There has been a recall of peanut butter and its related products since last week. Does this one affect you? Not so much in our family since we are not that into peanut butter. We have it once in a while but it's not a regular staple in our table. So this recall would just be like the times that we don't buy it. Now, more than ever, we have to be careful on what we put on our table.

The peanut butter scare has affected me to some degree. I like to eat the prepackaged Peanut Butter and Crackers and now I am told not to...or my favorite: "eat at your own risk." It has made me start planning my lunch and actually take the time to fix and pack it.

As far as peanut butter in a jar, it hasn't affected me. I bought 3 or 4 jars of PB about 6 months or more ago, so I am eating that --and probably won't run out anytime soon.

That's a sad one. Well, it's really "eat at your own risk". I just hope that you wouldn't get sick because of that. Take care.

Isn't it crazy how many recalls there have been lately? Not just foods, but toys too. It's starting to seem like nothing is safe!

Luckily, my family is like yours. We are just not that into peanut butter. I'm especially not into it since I started looking at the calorie count in everything! The peanut butter we have in our cabinet is 100 calories per TABLESPOON. Just one table spoon. That's little enough of anything to make someone go mad, lol!

I can't remember when it was, but I know there was a previous recall on peanut butter. My brother's family had actually eaten out of a container that was in the recall. Thankfully, they didn't get sick!

I didn't know that peanut butter has that much calories. Thanks for sharing. I am not a person who looks into the nutritional content on the labels. So your information is really helpful. Thanks.

That's for sure.....there have been way too many cases of recalls lately starting last summer with ecoli in lettuce. With all the technology we have....with all the supposed government standards they have to pass this is unexceptable. This recall affected so very many different products from peanut butter crackers to dog food. So now more then ever we have to be very careful.

We really have to. I think being careful is the only way that we would be able to take care of ourselves.

last time i have uploaded a news saying that peanut butter from U.S didn't passed in BFAD test the reason why people should be aware on it and shouldn't buy that kind of products because it contains virus..Hope that this will be banned and no one will get affected.

Regular brands of peanut butter in jars haven't been recalled, and they are considered safe. The problem is with products made with peanut butter from one processing plant. I bought a jar of peanut butter today, and all the usual brands were on the store shelves. If there had been a recall for them, the store would have pulled them off the shelves.

You're right. Good observation.

It hasn't affected us too much. The jars of peanut butter have been ruled to be safe and that's the only kind of peanut butter we use. We buy organic peanut butter which is made at a completely different facility and the last purchase was made about 4 months ago...and we still have a sealed jar ( a 2 for the price of 1 special)

We have stopped buying cookies with peanut butter/peanuts in them until these facilities receive a clean bill of health.

It hasn't affected me. I eat peanut butter, but seldom eat peanut butter products, so the recall doesn't matter that much to me.

Too many recalls... either they've started some new program or they're trying to cause a panic over the food supply. Maybe so the government can take that over, too? happy

Well, it would be hard if the government would take over this one too. So I think it just up to us on how we take care of our health. We have to make sure we are buying/eating the right stuff.

I agree with you. Now a days we must be careful of what to put on our table because there are many products now that contains harmful substances which is dangerous to our health. I can't understand why some food manufacturers are not concerned of the health of their consumers? are they focused only of profits? the the benefit they can give to the public. Good that we are not that fond of peanut butter.sadsad

It is sad to say that there are some companies that are focused more on their profits than the well-being of their clients. It's the reality of this consumerism era.
