I've been hooked on this show for months! It's so hilarious and funny! My favorite character is definitely Sheldon! He is so controlling and insanely weird. His antics never fail to make me laugh and his dialogues are just so hysterically out of this world! How about you -- who's your favorite "The Big Bang Theory" character?

I tried watching a couple of episodes but I didn't get hooked. I guess it's not my kind of humor. The geeky references are good but they don't strike me that muck. I'd rather watch a serious geek series like Numb3rs :P I think it's something cultural. Thanks for the response on my discussion! And if you haven't seen them - maybe you can try Lie to Me and Trust Me :P 2 new series that I started and seem very promising.

Well I guess it really depends on the audience.. but at least you gave it a try. I'll try to check out the shows you recommended. :)

yeah, I guess it is. I've also heard people say that they really like CSI Miami (like my dad) and I can't bring myself to finish a season :P

This is the best situation comedy that has come out in years. I love Sheldon and his weird ways. Poor penny. She is starting to understand him enough to just walk away. I think Rajish is so cute when he can't speak in front of Penny. And penny is so cute too trying to keep Howard in line. Sheldon just doesn't get normal life and is such a fanatic about every thing from where he sets to how things should be and having every thing in order and can't change any thing. But all that makes the show so funny

I agree with everything you said. All members of the cast are actually funny. Each of them have their own quirky quality that makes it easy for them to love and watch.

It's hard to pick a favorite, they all are really good, and their humor works well off one another. Guess if I did pick it'd have to be Sheldon. I liked the one I saw a week or two ago, Friendship Algorhythm...Gawd, that was just too funny lol. I laughed my butt off at the one where they made the battle machine to fight the other machine. I think it's one of the funniest shows out there right now.

I saw both episodes. I agree with you.. they were hilarious! I don't intend to give spoilers to those who are just about to watch, but watch out for the rock climbing scene in that "Friendship Algorithm" episode.. I laughed really hard on that one.

I like the show even though it carries stereotyping to a new low. Few, if any, scientists are like those four guys and blonds are not all like Penny. Of course humor has always taken the form of stereotyping and scientists are a group that few will stand up for like so many other groups were making humor at their expense is considered to be politically incorrect. As a scientists I can laugh at the extremes of the show but think it is not a good message to send to the general public and especially to kids here in the U.S. where it is hard to get them interested in science anyway.

I respect your opinion on this matter. I don't think it's actually making fun of scientists or geeks in general. For me it just shows that geeks like us can be cool and fun, unlike those who stereotype us as serious and not fun at all. Again, we have our own opinions :)

I do like Sheldon. I love his straight take on everything. He's even starting to learn that there are some things that he just doesn't get. But I have to say, the interactions that I find the funniest involve Penny with the guys, especially Howard and Sheldon. The gift exchange betwenn Sheldon and Penny in the Christmas episode was priceless. So I think I would actually have to say my favorite character is Penny. I really like this show alot and the chemistry between the characters feels alot like Friends did.

Yup, I'd have to say Penny's a good character too. She's like the one person who can make the guys do crazy stuff. :)

Thank you for making this discussion because I love this show so much! LOL. I can't decide on between Sheldon and Howard, because both of them are just so funny. Sheldon always has something to say about everything, and he has the best "laugh" ever. It sounds so forced and yet it makes me laugh every time he does it. Probably my favorite scene ever was when Sheldon accidentally got the phone number of a gay guy in the cafeteria. He was so oblivious that the guy was hitting on him. Hahaha. Howard on the other hand reminded me of a classmate of mine who has a similar personality. He's the nerdiest one among the bunch but he's also the coolest. I'm hoping my voice will sound exactly like his. I want to have that deep voice too. LOL. Whoa... I have written quite a long response. I can't believe I loved this show THAT much. Hahaha.

I don't blame you for being that eager to share your opinion about the show.. it's just really, really funny! =) I also like Howard.. his pick-up lines never fail to make me laugh my head off! He really thinks of himself as a lady's man. Sheldon, well, he's just really something! Have you watched last week's episode -- The Friendship Algorithm? My oh my, he's just so hilarious!
