What one day would you live over again?

In the movie "50 First Dates," Drew Barrymore's character, Lucy, suffers from short-term memory loss from an auto accident and she continually relives the same day. I'm sure no one would willingly endure such a fate but IF you could choose to relive one day of your life, which one would it be and why?

Hi thinkingoutloud, I haven't come across this film at all but it seems to be the same kind of plot as Groundhog day, also there is a most excellent book I could recommend if you like this kind of thing called 'Replay' by ken grimwood, not only does the central character relive one day he relives about 20 years of his life, over and over, really fascinating idea.

Wow! Thanks for the recommendation! I haven't heard of that book but it sounds like it would be a really interesting story. I'll look it up online! When I think about the last 20 years of my life, there are most definitely parts that I would NOT want to relive. How about you, thea09?

Now you know... I never considered the possibility of living it over with a whole lot of money on hand LOL I guess that would certainly change the landscape a great deal!

It may well be out of print now but is the most amazing read, if you think of being destined to live your adult life over and over just think of the possibilities and the changes in priorities. What would I do, I'd 'replay' the stock market to make my first few millions and then take it from there. The new opportunities would be endless, but reading the book will make you understand why the protagnist took one lifetime off, as a practical hermit.

I don't agree with the topic LOL. I am loving my present life eventhough I know how hard I have been through. If I will change one bit of the past I perceived it will change my present. I am loving my present life, less fight at home, I have found two great people and they are now my friends. Little by little my younger brother is now going on college, I am expecting four years of sacrifices and four years is fast after that I'll be thinking of myself alone. My past is just perfect, there is regrets but past is past.

LOL!! It is fine not to agree with the topic, grecychunny I found it interesting in the movie, though, that the character woke up every day and lived the same EXACT day over and over. I totally agree with you that the past is past and we move forward a little bit more every day. I would never willingly choose to live a day of my past repeatedly but I'm sure, if I gave it serious thought, I might be able to come up with some moments that, if I had to be "stuck" there, I could be pretty happy

The very last (full) day I spent with my ex-fiance. This is only on the condition that I keep reliving it over and over and, like Lucy, don't remember what happens after it.... but we had such a great time that day. We slept in late, went to a used CD store (Ironically, as I was typing that sentence, someone on the television said the name of the store, "Cheapo"... granted they didn't mean the store but it was still kind of creepy), went to a bookstore, had a great lunch, missed my plane, hung out trying to figure out how I was going to get home (we could skip that part, it wasn't so fun), went to the most amazing toy store, possibly in the world, had Chinese take out and went to a concert. Loaded day but it was terrific and I could totally live it over and over again.

I'm sorry that it's probably a bittersweet memory for you, crimsonladybug... but it also sounds like you had a really amazing time. Except for the travel headache, naturally. Let's hope there will be some other equally terrific days in your near future too! :)
