The Private Sector Did Not Fail Us in This Bad Economy... Socialism Did!

Anyone who thinks it was the private sector who caused this economic problem needs to look at the facts. Fact, the economy tanked when the real estate bubble burst. Fact, the real estate bubble was created by the government forcing finance companies to take on bad loans. Fact, the first major corporations to go under were Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. These two companies aren't private enterprises. They are partnerships between private enterprise and the federal government. In other words.. Socialist. Fact, The government half of the partnerships were supposed to have oversight over the private side. The private side was cooking the books and giving false reports. When Rahm Emanuel and the others on the government side of it found out about it, they worked to cover it up. When they found out about the corruption, Reps Barney Frank, Sen. Chuck Hagel and both the Republican and Democrat leadershipos refused to do anything about it. Fact, the current economic problems didn't hit the private sector until the loan money dried up. Fact, the Big 3 auto industry is overburdoned by laws requiring them to spend hundreds of millions of dollars that do nothing to promote the production and distribution of cars and trucks. ~~~ That pathetic part of it all is, now that socialism has wreaked havoc on our economy, Marxist idiots like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and Prs. Obama now insist that "government is the only answer". Government isn't the answer, but it IS the problem! We're looking at the fox with chicken feathers all over his face, demanding he provide us with eggs from the very chickens he killed and ate. Let's quit being naive little rodents here folks. We know the problem, but we're so afraid of the solution we are willing to surrender our rights and freedom. We are so spoiled by easy answers that we are willing to execute anyone who dares say the only real answer out loud. The real and hard truth is, if we aren't willing to ride through this recession now, without demanding our government play mommy and daddy to us, we are only passing a major depression on to our kids. Get out of your mind numbed, spoiled rotten comfort zones and be willing to do what the "Greatest Generation" did for us. That is, ride through the hard times and be ready to work hard to make life better for the next generation. If we're so arrogant that we're not ready and willing to do that, then we've never progressed beyond the need for diaper changes.

The fact that you consider Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and Barack Obama to be Marxists makes me not want to listen to anything you have to say about economics because you obviously have no idea what Marxism actually is. Besides that, your thinking makes absolutely no sense - you're basically saying that because the government didn't give enough oversight of the private sector of the housing industry it failed, but that doesn't support your hypothesis. Many things have failed us in this economy, private and governmental alike. You can't just point the finger at the government. The entire economic system is fundamentally flawed because it is based on theories and models that are based on fictional people in fictional circumstances (the fallacy of misplaced concreteness). Economists need to start incorporating cultural values into their theories and start working in a micro setting.

They are all about government running business, and that is what Marx called for. Yes, he dressed it up in a lie of "the workers running businesses" but in the end, the people have to turn to the government to FORCE others to do their will. The government does have legitimate oversight over business in a free market society. But that oversight isn't any different than the laws everyone has to obey anyway. Assault and Battery laws cover abusing employees physically. Contract law already covers making sure employers pay what they agree to (although I notice no one seems to call for laws forcing employees to do what they agreed to upon employment... in fact the law protects them when they don't). In other words, the laws already on the books cover almost every oversight situation. Why do we need totalitarian oafs in Congress forcing businesses to do what isn't in ANYONE's best interest except the bought and paid for politician? Free market economy is the ultimate example of an economy with the cultural values of the people in mind. In fact, it is the only that is run by the people. Every other economic system requires force by the government.... Except of course "anarchy" (which isn't an economic system, but is what Socialists and Communists try to twist Free Market into when they "discuss" economic systems. Micro and Macro economics are two different things.. just to let you know.

Yes, the cold war is over, so quit thinking of Communism as purely a Soviet thing.

I would add only one thing to this: that this economic mess was NOT caused by George Bush! In fact, before the economy cratered, he'd tried 19 times in 2008 ALONE to rein in the Fanny Mae/Freddy Mac idiocy, while the know-nothings in Congress kept lying through their teeth saying there was NO PROBLEM, & told the public not to worry. There are things George did that I wasn't happy with, but the ECONOMY wasn't one of them! Maggiepie
