It seems quality systems have caused decisive actions on cost reduction. Unfortunately, using "cheaper" technology to replace "costly" manpower was working very well until ... ... it seems too many people are jobless and not enough products and services are being bought worldwide. What has to be done differently with job creation? Any ideas?

The basic idea would be to retrain workers into other areas, so that they can fit into new roles with ease. For example controlling a machine requires more than physical skills. The main problem that I have seen so far is the reluctance of many workers to learn new skills. The government should give some support in this matter, otherwise many employers may not initiate any training program to enhance mental and physical skills of their employees. In a nutshell the attitude of the workers need to be changed first followed by retraining. Old people with the correct attitude can be taught new skills. Changes should also be made at the school level, so that we have graduates who are open minded and can easily change from one task to another. all the best, rosdimy

thanks for the insight Rosdimy. I agree that acquiring new skills will assure new opportunities. I am glad that a lot of people are already pursuing the new skills needed. All the best too, ruperto.
