Alot of huge businesses eventually do go out of business. Especially in economic times like this. Do you think Walmart will be effected by this recession? Do you think if we went into a depression it would be effected? Our do you think Walmart is resilient and will remain forever.

I hope it doesnt, as I shop Walmart about once a week right now, and it saves me alot of money on baby products, and groceries since that is what I go in there for. I have another cheaper grocery shop I go to.. they are new to our area but it is called Aldi's and you bag your own groceries, kinda like a warehouse thing, but smaller packages, and we save 30.00 at least a week on groceries there... and since I am using the reusable green bags now it isnt a problem at all.

I doubt it very much. Two reasons basically firstly those who previously would "never" shop at Walmart are now being "forced" to go there due to tough times (and those who always shopped there have no-where else to go) and secondly they run a very tight ship managerially and react very quickly to tough times

why no, i think wal-mart is here to stay. they might have to close some stores but i doubt that even happening. i hate going to wal-mart but it's about the only place we have here to buy anything. they run all the other small buisnesses out of buisness around here.

Personally I think Wal Mart will be around when nothing else is! LOL They just simply have the hold on retail in my opinion. Even in a recession they are the only retail still reporting increases. I shop at Wal Mart all the time. I don't necessarily think it is good that they are in as much control of retail as they are by being one of the largest but nevertheless they are.

Personally since there are New WalMarts going up all of the time everywhere, I would think personally overall, this is still one of the safest Businesses out there. There could be stores in smaller areas that could be in trouble, but personally I cannot see the Economy overall hurting too many around us.

We don't have walmart in the Philippines but I sure do hear about this store in US. In fact I checked this store online. They have stuff that are cheaper. I think, this store will not be affected because this is the store of the common people. If other stores will be closed, I don;t think Walmart would because this is cheaper compared to other stores and of course people would preferred to buy here.

I dont think walmart will ever go out of business... as long as their cost is less..... with the recession.. even more people will start buying things in walmart... in Toronto.. i heard like 4 new Walmart superstores have opened.. even with the recession on... and even more new Walmart stores opened...
