Digging out of debt when you are using a spoon!  | |  I read this phrase from Budget101.com and it really made an impact on me. I can soo relate to the phrase. Ever felt that way? when you are working so hard on getting out of debt but it seems like you are not making any progress at all no matter how hard you try? It can get really frustrating at times. I have been working on my debts for several years now and whenever it seems like I am actually making progress, something happens to push me back where I started or even deeper in debt.

| | | | | | 1.  greenglitterturtle (1899) | 9 months ago |  hi silverglint...i've not heard that expression before but it makes sense. i have been working to pay off my debt and like you i'll saved up some money to pay taxes and a car repair eats it up. so i have to save it up again and that takes from the money i wanted to put against my debt. but i have learned to be more careful and i still put something against the debt. so i don't want to give up. i will continue to make progress and look forward to the day when i am debt free. the important thing is to keep at it. i wish you to be debt free too.

It feels like every time we start making progress, something pushes us back. We have finally reached the point where we are starting to make a bit of real progress, though, after 4 years of trying. But the car has to go for its brakes and we have taxes due in a few months, so we'll see how this goes.
