Maybe they got my message!

I've been doing my weekly grocery shopping at Walmart for nearly 8 years now, and for 8 years I've dreaded shopping day. I've always hated the service at Walmart. The cashiers have always been rude, and I cannot make it out of that store without being extremely frustrated and upset at everyone and everything!! I've started a few different discussions about this as well. Then 2 weeks ago I decided I'd attempt shopping at a different store, only to find that I was spending far to much money in order to do so. So this past Friday I returned to Walmart. The majority of the trip was quite uneventful, but I did notice that there wasn't anyone stocking the shelves. This is usually one of the headaches I face while shopping. They pick the busiest hours to stock the shelves, so they park their carts in the middle of the aisles, and it's litterally impossible to get by them. It frustrates me to no end! They're a 24 hour Walmart, why can't they stock at night when it's less busy? Then I was even more surprised when I got to the check outs. I didn't really notice it at the time, but none of the lanes really had too many people, normally the majority of my shopping trip is spent waiting in that line. But as I was debating between 2 lines with only 2 people in each, a CSM caught my attention and pointed me to a line with no one in it. And the cashier in that line was actually pleasant, and did a half way decent job of bagging the groceries. This has honestly never happened in the entire time I've been shopping at Walmart!! So that got me wondering if maybe someone read my posts on here . Maybe something happened so that they finally realized that people are getting fed up with their service, so they did a major overhaul! Have you ever started a discussion complaining about something, only to find it changed after your discussion? Has the service at your Walmart changed recently?

Hey kats! I'm glad that you finally had a decent experience going to Walmart! I'm sure that you were not the only shopper to have been complaining and maybe they finally got word to the higher ups that they needed to do something with that store before they lost anymore customers! Sometimes sooner or later they actually pay attention to the customers! If they get enough complaints and they see that they are losing customers they sooner or later will do something about it! I just wish they would do something about the Walmart that I go to! But, I doubt it! It isn't like the one you go to. It isn't a full grocery store and isn't open 24 hours! But, it is a store with alot of the same problems!

We have a few regular Walmarts too, and although I haven't been in them in years, last I was it was much of the same bad service!

Well I certainly hope the half way decent servie at Walmart is there to stay. I certainly prefer it over the rude service I'm used to there.

Personally there could be many reasons. But what I would think is that maybe you went at a time when they were not as busy, or they decided to have more Cashiers helping others due to maybe you were not the only one unhappy there, and they are trying to change. I hope things continue to go this way as well.

That is just because it was Friday the 13th and all the rude people were at home afraid something bad was going to happen to them. My last trip to Walmart was not that bad. I even had a nice cashier. It was kind of crowded still, but not too bad. I did not see anyone stocking when I was there either.

I had totally forgotten it was Friday the 13th too. I figured it would have been a lot busier, considering it was the day before a holiday, but it didn't seem too bad. I guess I'll figure it out when I go shopping next.

Nope I wouldn't think anyone would know or care that was a higher up @ wal-mart. But I think partly why clerks can be rude is because they are not hiring quality people nor are they paying them decently. Really.... most of retail is like that. My job is picky but man if I didn't need a job badly I would of just let it go because I'm making $5 less an hour than I was 6 yrs ago when I last held a job. (been a full time stay-at-home mom for 5 yrs) to say the least it's a bit degrading, but it's a job. However, if they pay better then they always say they'll have to increase their prices. Well gas prices have gone down but the prices of products have not decreased so there is still an increased profit IMO.

Well it is good to hear that your last visit was better, but I really do think that if they are slacking in their service you should consider complaining about it. I mean shopping is bad enough as it is without having miserable folk serving and not being able to get the things you want!

I've complained numerous times. Quite a few times I complained to a CSM, and it seemed pointless, like they weren't even listening. I felt like they were just nodding their head and saying they'd handle it, just to shut me up, then when I left they probably turned to the cashier and talked about me like I was the one off my rocker. I did complain to an actual manager a few times too. Only once did it get anywhere, I recieved a $20 gift card for my trouble, but none of the problems changed. I learned my lesson about complaining to the greeters. At first I assumed they'd pass along the message when I complained, but instead they told me to go stand in line at customer service. I don't see what's the big deal about them passing along the message, but they won't do it.
