keep your empty egg shells!! |
| |
| We crack open egg shells and throw them out without giving it a second thought. But do you know that egg shells are full of calcium? What you do is le them dry, then put them in your coffee grinder. Then add the ground up egg shells to your salads, in your cats or dog food, in your plants. | | Keep your egg shells=full of calcium | | | | |

| | I never heard of this but I may have to try it. I wonder if it will help our garden that we intend to have this summer. I will ask my husband about it. Of course, I don't have a coffee grinder but anyway. | | | | | | |

| | That is really interesting, a good way to recycle things I suppose hehe. I would go for putting it in my garden though, I love to garden so any of those little tips are great for getting a good harvest in the fall. I do not think that I would ever consume these eggshells though, especially not in a salad hehe, that would just be kind of odd to eat, even if they are ground up, I will pass hehe. Well anyways, thanks for the tip, happy mylotting, and have a great day! | | | | | | |

| | hello dancingredfeather ewww, i do not know about consuming the egg shell itself like that. they taste pretty nasty, don't they? lol and i sure wouldn't want any egg shells in my fresh tossed salads. gross. and i do not care if the egg shells would be run through the coffee grinder or not, i will pass on eating the egg shells like that. and i do not even know if my dog would eat them or not. she doesn't like fried eggs or raw eggs, but she will eat a scrambled egg with cheese on it thou. but the egg shells might be good outside for the plants. that would be the only use that i would have for an egg shell like that. take care and have a beautiful afternoon. | | | | | | |

| | You didn't read my dear..hahahah..I said to pass them in a coffee grinder or blender..this way they turn into a fine powder and doesn't taste anything, actually they take the taste of the salade. Of course your dog would eat it as its in powder form and put in the meat..wouldn't taste. My cats gobble up their meal and haven't turned up their nose to their cat salad. lol.. | | | |

| | well my dear..read hahaha what you buy and I think the egg shells are more appetizing than all the chemicals put to preserve and give taste to the food. hahahah. It becomes a powder and you can't even taste it as the powder takes the taste of the food. I rather someone tell me that its powdered egg shells than when one day I was eating at a friend from pakistan's place and just loved those round balls..until he told me they were FRIED GOATS EYES...whaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkk hahah | | | |

| | I did know this. When i was younger, a salesman came to our house to demonstrate this new mixer and blender. He told us how egg shells were full of calcium and showed us how to make delicious healthy milkshakes, throwing in the entire egg!!...At first I thought it would be gross but after tasting a chocolate milkshake made with eggshells and all, it was delicious. It became my excuse to my mom as to why I needed a chocolate milkshake..."but mom, I think my calcium is low today!!!" | | | | | | |

| | hahahha..that is really cute for an excuse!!! Did she bite! Or rather swallow that excuse hehehe. Yes, when I think of the millions of egg shells thrown away that would be great for many uses. | | | |

| | No she never "swallowed" that excuse...lol...She would say we only had enough eggs for breakfast, and i would ask then why did she buy the machine?? Like it had no other uses right!!...lol...Good thing IM not an egg because this conversation is "cracking" me up!!! | | | |

| | Are the grinded shells good for all plants? I have no garden but I do have a lot of potted indoor plants and I'm wondering if they would benefit too. | | | | | | |

| | ABSOLUTELY! Grt 4 indoor plants. When you break your eggs..put the shell in a jar and let it dry..I fill up the jar by crushing them down until I can't no more then later I grind them to powder. I feed my plants, my cats, myself. I mix in dry food for the cats outdoors and they come back for more..I notice that the food disappears even faster. I make cat salads and did one today and put in it and they gobbled up everything. I also put a teaspoon once a week in their water. If I cook soups I also put some in there. I will take a teaspoon and mix it in water and drink it. | | | |

| | eheheh no they won't make them grow too fast..just put a tblspoon put in warm water and swish around ..then feed your plants with the water. I always mix 3 tblespoons when I repot or buy new plants ones I put some at the bottom of the pot and on the top I make holes in the earth and fill it with the egg shell powder then cover and water. Everytime I water my plants I do that and people always ask me how do I keep my plants so beautiful..I say..lots of love and nutrients. When I buy sardines I crush also the backbone into powder and put that in too. Once a week I also take a tablespoon of white vinegar and put it in my water feeder and feed it to the plants, it kills bacteria and keeps them from rotting. In my plants that are only in water and shells..once a month I put a capful of peroxide and boy are they beautiful. When I wash my whites, I put in a cup of peroxide..when the rinse cycle comes then I re rince to put my softner. I have beautiful white clothes and a disinfected washer..hehehe. I also put a cup of perxoide or epsom salts when I take a bath or do a foot bath. Back to egg shells..What I do when I break the eggs is pass my fingerin the egg shells and put it on my face..around my eyes and lips especially. Then I wait until its really dry and sponge off then I cream.. little inexpensive tips..lol | | | |
