Do you love baking cakes?

I like baking very much. I have been doing it for a long time but unfortunately ever since I uprooted myself in this new place I have left all my utensil at my other house and can't do any baking anymore except for steam cakes which are equally good. Fruit cakes is one of my favourite cake to bake but I prefer the steam fruit cake which is more moist and delicious. Normally fruit cakes are quite lasting when you pour some liqu0r to it. Fruitcake matures with time. The longer it is kept the better it taste.

Hi to all, i love baking the few cake recipes i know, and as i say i only know 3 recipes, and maybe if there is some one out there that is willing to describe to me a fruit cake recipy i would much appreciate, what i normaly make is raisin bread or ginger bread or plumcake bread, other i dont know, greetings bignik

I have always loved baking my own cakes. Somehow I ended up being the family's baker lol. I made my daughters wedding cakes, and those of my friends children. Tonight I made 2 cakes for my grandson's birthday party. The request was for one chocolate, and one vanilla one for the family with chocolate allergies. What fun! It's in the shape of a locomotive, with 2 coal cars. Unless it's a pineapple upside down cake, I pretty much prefer plain flavored cakes too.

If you're referring to fruitcake as in the classic fruitcake with mixed fruits and nuts, the answer is in the quality of the alcohol you put in plus things like honey and jam. Fruit mixes alone won't give it that oomph. Brandy and cognac is always best AND it's not just in the cake itself but in the fruit & nut mix. After that, it's a matter of how long you put it aside to mature. Fruitcakes can be kept up to a year if you wrap it in foil and freeze it or three months if it's just sitting in the fridge.

For my wedding and my sis-in-law's birthday cake, I made a fruitcake and basically soaked the fruit & nut mix for seven days in brandy, honey and jam. In fact, I soaked it for nearly two weeks and then baked it a month before my wedding and sis-in-law's birthday. Everyone loved the cake - according to them, it was rich and very flavourful. So I guess it was a hit!!!!

I love baking cakes. Apple cinnamon cake is one of my favorite. I haver never tried fruit cakes. I know that for good fruit cakes, the fruit must be soaked in brandy for about 1 month. You can do that during the holoday season of Christmas.

hi nice to meet u, me also just learn how to baking cake. My friend teach me do the Butter cake. first time i do no very good and the cake no soft. So i always ask my friend how will like this and many. My friend say u do rite but why will like that. So me do many time, than find it the answer why will like that. Because the many thing is wrong, like flour, egg no enuf, and more. Finally me can do the butter cake at yummy and soft. Very thank my friend teach me. But now me also want try other cakes. For fruit cake me havent try and also dun know how baking. Me normal do the cake for my mommy ask me do for breakfast or my hubby ask me do the cake when him back.

Hello myfb. I don't know how to bake cakes though I have got a oven from my best friend who left it with me when she left for her own country. This friend of mine loves cooking and used to bake cakes for us friends to eat. I love and still miss those cakes with some chocolates on them. They taste so good.

i do love eating cakes, but i don't think how to baking cakes, it is too hard to learn as i'm not good at cooking.now, this is the tea time,when i read this discussion, i fell hungry,i can be image that it taste good.good luck and have a nice!

I like baking cake too. Although quite tiring but it is worth my effort... Everyone can taste how nice my recipe is. Wine is best to make good taste & lasting.
