Another Scandal for the Obama Administration

It seems that there is another scandal in the Presidents Administration that probably will not make the evening news. The Federal Election Commission has ruled that President Obama received special treatment in his Real Estate Mortgage. http://community.comcast.net/comcastportal/board/message?board.id=news&thread.id=475890 It seems that he is with Senator Dodd and other Politicians who don't understand how mortgages work. Things like not paying any points or closing costs and having interest rates well below market rates. Is it any wonder that he thinks he can change the economy just because he says so. Maybe it is just the change to Chicago Style politics with all the graft and corruption with a special ruling class.

Many of us were already aware of this to some degree. As you said, it will be ignored by the media. Too many in the media, like Chris Matthews, feel it's their job to make sure Obama succeeds.

We knew the house deal was smelly but it was not widely known that he got a sweetheart deal on his mortgage. It also calls into question the intelligence of the people who don't know they are getting special treatment. I was a public administrator for several years and knew that if I bought something from a vendor and paid by check it would be torn up, so I ordered items through the school and paid the school so there would be no question that I paid for things. If the vendor did not charge the school for the items I purchased I still paid the school. When you get a mortgage and are told there are no points and your interest is below market you know you are getting a deal and they will want something in return. I would like to see all institutions receiving government funds disclose all dealing with government officials and the terms of the agreement. Let see who is getting the deals.

That's an interesting story about paying vendors when you worked for a school. I've known police officers who do the same thing to avoid the appearance of special favors. When I was in highschool I worked for a Taco Bell and we gave free meals to police officers. Many insisted on paying and even the ones who accepted free meals did so under protest.

Sometimes businesses like fast foods and convenience stores have policies that police officers get something free. The reason is they will come in and check form time to time and in effect provide extra security for the business. A police officer accepting a free meal will make the nightly news but the mayor or governor getting tickets to the Superbowl to see the work of a Stadium builder is considered OK.

Yep, the more we learn about the 0bamunist, the more corrupt we find him to be. So much for transparency, honesty, and all that. What is the point of having a regulatory outfit like the FEC if they refuse to enforce the laws?

A comment was made on the radio yesterday that I found funny. It seems that 10 of the Presidents top advisors drive cars other than those made by the big three Auto Companies which the government is bailing out. This means that either they are not buying American or if they are they are buying NON UNION Produced cars. Ironic that the Unions support them and oppose Rush and Sean Hannity who both drive or own GM cars. I guess it is like helping the poor Liberals will gladly give others peoples money but will not part with theirs.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Something tells me other politicians enjoy similar 'perks'. That might explain why they are so removed from reality and simply don't understand the plight of the average American. It's a shame but sad reality!

May be it is time to make the positions part time and to force them to earn a real living. i agree they live in an isolated world and don't understand what it is like to work for a living. That is why I liked Gov Romney, he had made his money by working for it and not in government service. One very scary thought - A few years ago I received a letter asking for a contribution from a former student who was graduating from college with a political science and government degree. At age 23 he wanted to run for elected office. He cited his educational background as reason to support him. He felt he was better able to understand and solve the problems of the state because he understood the theory of government. To me the problem was this kid never worked a day in his life and did not know what working meant. How man of today's political leaders have never worked at anything other than government jobs or make work programs. How much can a person who has been in government for 40 to 50 years understand the plight of the common person?
