Kid's Birthday Themes | | | | hi my co-myLotters :) i am first time mommy and i have son turning 3 this May. During their celebrations on bdays i've been so excited on planning and preparing for the party. :D (w/c i've been loving since then :D) i have so much in minds especially their bday themes..since we can't put all those tehmes in one and my son will celebrate many bdays and years i categorized them according to his wants :D here are some lists that we've used in my son-Kurt's bday ;) 1st Bday: Spongebob Squarepants since my son love spongebob we made this party theme for him and he recognized spongebob already (he calls him "babob" :D and it's summer, like a bikini buttom scene :D) 2nd Bday: Superman / Justice League i have a son and since he's a boy and i love superman too :D i and his dada decided to have this theme... very manly and everybody's fave super hero :D 3rd Bday: BasketBall theme it's been our fave sports... :D (when am preggy w/ him i used to watch NBA and PBA :D) kurt knows how to play since his 1st bday i wanted to have a basketball theme but he can't show any stunts and moves yet :D so the most awaited part is yet to come, we'll use this in his coming 3rd bday :D and i wanted spiderman, hawaian or luau party, and a lot more :D how about you...what bday themes have you used for your kids party and wanted to? Godabless!0=) | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | My husband is a Vader impersonator so we promote Star Wars parties lol. We've had several themes though as our son turns 3 in August this year. For his first birthday he had a lion theme as he's a leo, and it seemed appropriate. For his 2nd birthday we did a transformers theme because he was really into them. This year it will be either Star Wars which he just got into this year, or Ben 10 Aliens. He's obsessed with Ben 10. Namaste-Anora | | | | | | | myralmedo (370)

| | I think all of my kids had a Pooh theme for their first birthday. After that it changed. We go by what they want. It was Dora for the second birthday for both of my girls, princess for their third. Then it was Belle for my oldest on her fourth, fifth, and sixth, then Supergirl for her seventh, and Princess for her eighth again. Yeah, she is princess crazy. My younger daughter had Ariel for her fourth and Supergirl for her fifth (her imitate her sister phase). Now she wanted first flowers or butterflies for her sixth and changed it to princess after she saw her sister's cake and stuff. Now that I bought the stuff for her party she suddenly wants to have a Pirate theme... too bad, once it's purchased there is no change in theme (a general rule all three of them know). My son is the youngest. After Pooh for the first birthday, he had a Diego themed second birthday, and a Spiderman themed third birthday. Since my husband loves his superheroes I'm sure the theme will continue along that line. It's so much fun to prepare for those parties. I remember having birthday parties when I was little but there never was a theme, lol. | | | | | | | myralmedo (370)

| | I didn't really do a "theme" for the first three parties for my son, just the basics, Blue's Clue's, firetrucks, etc. But for his 4th birthday, we did a 102 Dalmation thing, I painted a spot around each child's eye and gave the Milk cap dog tags with names like Boomer, Bouncer, Lady, etc. Then I set out the pop-up play set we have and told them it was a dog house. For dessert, instead of cake, I made cookies using a doggy biscuit cookie cutter, and the kids got to decorate them themselves with sprinkles and frosting. For his 5th birthday, we had a Rocking Horse Rodeo. I got water guns and let the kids try to shoot empty pop cans off the fence. Then we had a roping contest, we stuck a stick pony into a bail of hay, and let the kids throw a hula hoopat it, and then we did a "panning for gold" I tool $10 worth of pennies and a bag of sand and put them into a kiddie pool, then gave the boys tin pie pans and let them pan for gold. For his 6th birthday we did a Harry Potter theme. We recreated Diagon Alley. We had booths for the kids to go around to. We gave away chocolate coins at Gringotts, Pencils at Flourish and Blotts, Cans of "Butter Beer" (creme soda) at the Leaky Cauldron, Stuffed animals at Magical Menagerie, and there was a craft station at Ollivanders, we took large pretzel sticks and dipped them in chocolate and then sprinkles to serve as a craft and a snack. For his 7th birthday we did a Joust. We got two of the Hopparoos and two 6 foot inflatable swords (From Oriental Trading) amd did a double elimination joust. Then we hd a dragon pinata so the knights got to slay the dragon. For his 8th birthday we did a dinasaur excavation. We made volcanos out of foil and pill bottles, and we got dinosaur eggs that the boys got to break open and find dinosaur bones in. For his 9th birthday, we did a Star Wars theme. I bought a bunch of the thin water noodles from the dollar store, cut them in 1/2 and taped a handle on the end with duct tape, those were the light sabers. I gathered all of the boys and gave them a secret code, and when I said the code later, they turned on their dads with water balloons. We had an R2D2 cake, it was great. For his 10th birthday, we did a Pirate Theme, we played Liars Dice and had a treasure hunt though the back yard. For his 11th birthday we did Ben10, A friend of mine drew a giant picture of one of the aliens and cut the face out, so each of the boys got to have their picture taken as an alien. I haven't got plans yet for his 12th birthday... | | | | | | | myralmedo (370)

| | It's really fun preparing for themed birthday parties for kids and I think I've fallen victim to this. :-) my daughter celebrated her first birthday last december and we had Care Bears theme. I really made an effort to include this theme to the details of the party like the stage backdrop, balloons, table centerpieces, party giveaways and prizes, her invitations and even her guest book. For the next few years I had these themes lined-up but I think this will change depending on my daughter's preferences: 2nd birthday - Dora the explorer 3rd birthday - PowerPuff Girls 4th birthday - Winnie the Pooh 5th Birthday - Disney Princesses 6th Birthday - Barbie 7th Birthday - Bratz | | | | | | | myralmedo (370)

| | I love birthday parties. We usually try to go with what our kids are into too. We've had Scooby Doo, a princess party, Sponge Bob, Go Diego Go, Dora, and Elmo. Elmo was for the first b-day party for both kids. My daughter wanted two Scooby Doo parties. She got them. I want to know if anyone indulges their children to this extent? | | | | | | | myralmedo (370)

| | I really do enjoy themes when it comes to my kids' b-days, but, it never seems to fail, at the last minute, things always change. Whether it be their own interests, finances, whatever, it changes. I hate to say it, but normally, my kids have a simple boy/girl theme. I try do at the very least have colors that I know they like. Two years ago, my son decided, last minute that he wanted Spiderman stuff for his b-day. So, I ran to the store, last minute and boughthim Spiderman gifts, and wrapping paper, it wasn't much, but, he was able to have something that he wanted. Last year, my daughter wanted to feel like a princess for her birthday, but she wanted baby doll gifts. So, I took her to run some errands with me while my husband and the boys decorated the house. They hung pink and white streamers eerywhere, from the ceiling, on the walls, anywhere you could imagine. She walked into the house and had to go across a streamer bridge, which was just a walkway outlined by streamers, it was cute, but my there was a big mess to clean up. I guess any thee that my kids have to their parties are not elaborate ones, but things that they decide they like, and usually last minute. | | | | | | | myralmedo (370)

| | I have a little girl so our theme choices are much different at the moment. For her first birthday I wanted to do the whole 1 year old theme, but my husband and I couldn't agree on one. So I had found a ladybug theme, which is what her room is so it was perfect!! It was bright and cheery, perfect for an outdoor party. We had it at regional park. She will be 2 in September so I do have some time, I have already been thinking about it but haven't gotten into checking into things yet. We plan on purchasing our first home soon, so I guess it will partly depend on where we end up and where we decide to have it...at home, a park again or somewhere else. Her fist b-day was a big bash, it was great but I plan to have the next ones be smaller scale at least as far as the guest list goes. I love party planning and it sounds like you do too :) Have fun, I'm sure whatever you choose will always be great! | | | | | | | myralmedo (370)

| | Well between three kids, we alternate the big birthday parties and then when it's not a big birthday year we let the kids pick an event that they want to go to. For example for my daughter's 4th birthday we are taking her to legoland and then spending what we would have on a party on presents for her. My oldest daughter had a few parties, one being a BBQ at the beach, another at a waterpark, and one at home w/ a jumper and music, etc. Her birthday is in the summer - mostly princess themes. My other daughter had a birthday in our huge backyard with lots of kid friendly toys when she turned 1, then she went to Disneyland for number two and Legoland for this year. My son's birthday is right around Thanksgiving so we didn't do a one year party, but will probably plan a two year. If I host another party I will probably do face painting and hire a clown to do balloon puppets because that seems to really be a hit with small children under 5 years of age. | | | | | | | | | | Carter University Degree in 1-2 Years Get Carter University Degree with Financial Aid in as Few as 2 Years.
