Along with other cities in this country, the Orlando area is planning a demonstration for March 21St. http://www.orlandoteaparty.com/ Orlando Tea Party March 21, 2009 Lake Eola 12pm until 2pm We hope you will join us on Saturday, March 21st, 2009 at the amphitheater at beautiful Lake Eola, Downtown Orlando, between 12:00pm-2:00pm to tell our government we are not going to take it anymore! This will be a peaceful rally to unite our voices and express the love that we have for our great nation and the principles it was founded on. We want to make our politicians hear loud and clear that we are tired of the bailouts, the wasteful Washington spending and the push towards the socialization of this country! We want less government! We want to decide where our hard earned money goes instead of the elitist politicians in Washington taking it and using it to buy votes, doling it out to special interest groups and pork barrel projects! We want our constitutional rights preserved and protected, not trampled on! Lets exercise our right to free speech and be a part of history as the peaceful reclamation of our country is underway! We need help raising the funds necessary to make this event happen. The deposit has been made to hold the venue but we need to raise $2,000- $3,000 within the next two weeks to pay for the event. We are taking contributions through Paypal at this time. Please click on the link below and help to make this happen.

I'm a little far from Florida, wish I could be there. I am hoping there is an event somewhere near me, though all the lakes up here are frozen right now, lol. As much as I would lke to hope this sort of thing will send a message and change things, I have my doubts. I think things have gone far beyond them listening to us anymore. I of course will continue my peacefull methods and protests, and hope they eventualy get the message and follow the will of the people, but I think it is ogoing to eventualy come down to people just out right revolting, we have already passed the point of no return I think, someone somewhere is already got the wheels in motion for it. But good luck with the event, I honestly and truly think it's great and symbolic, and still hold some small hope this kind of thing still works with todays deaf, bumb and blind government.

(TCOP)Top Conservatives on Twitter are coordinating simultaneous nationwide rallies and demonstrations for this Friday at noon ET in Chicago, Washington D.C., Fayetteville, N.C., Pittsburgh, Penn., San Diego, Calif., Fort Worth, Texas, Tulsa, Okla., Oklahoma City, Orlando, Fla., Omaha, Neb., Atlanta, Ga., and elsewhere in Missouri. More cities are joining in every day. I've never been to twitter.com so I don't know how to go about locating the information but it might be worth researching...even if it's only to share with others on the web.

If there is not one near you than organize one and get it going. I probly will not be driving to Florida for it, so I am going to see what I can find or organize closer to me.

Gee, I'll actually be in Orlando the day of the party. I hope they don't cause traffic jams to mess up my vacation schedule. I'm as against wasteful spending as the next person and I'm also sick of our money going to special interest groups, etc. but since this is being organized by conservative groups I'm afraid it's not for me. Since they seem to consider things like extending unemployment benefits as "pork" I'm afraid we don't share the same views on what's wasteful and what isn't. Annie

You shouldn't have any problems with traffic while you're down here, Annie. Orlando is pretty big and has enough traffic of it's own so they know how to keep it flowing. There's a regular thing going on up there in support of Israel but I don't remember what day of the week they're in Orlando. What you ARE going to encounter is GREAT weather so I hope you have a great time while you're down here! Winter and Spring are my favorite times of year down here. Too bad you're not into fishing and aren't coming all the way down to Lake Okeechobee. You're one of a handful of folks who I'd love to meet in person.

Sounds like fun to me. I wish I could be there. I would like to see this kind of thing all over the US. I think it is important for us to quietly protest the President so that History doesn't show that we were all morons.

I've heard there are similar protests planned in many locations. This is how grassroots politics are started. I've seen a couple of posts that call for 100,000 people to march on the White House but that's not going to happen until local support for a cause grows and the various groups come together to plan the event. It won't happen overnight but the people need to continue to let their objections be heard.
