I confess , I did not know. I know of Bill Gates, Sun Micro systems but I was not aware of this .What prompted this discussion was a discussion at home when my husband pointed out how we enjoy the benefits arising out of so many inventions and new facilities provided by technology[of course my lot is one such- is it not?]but how many of us pause to think of the founder of internet? We will go gaga about the invent of internet , but have we thought about this gentleman? So, I went to our dear Google, searched and got these details about this esteemed Mr.Vint Cerf and as a tribute I am pasting the link on to this site for the sake of fellow my lotters who adid not know this.http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2002/02/11/newscolumn1.html. Thank you Dear sir!!

Ummm, I'm pretty sure he was ONE OF the group who invented it. It was originally a military project (ARPANET), designed to impede the potential damage of a pre-emptive strike by Russia: putting information in a whole bunch of places rather than a central location, and thus avoiding the total blackout of a single nuke ploughing into the old-style data centre holding it all. Lawrence Roberts started the project and Vint Cerf was one of the two or three guys who basically invented the TCP protocols. That's an *amazing* piece of work if you think about it: a data protocol that hasn't changed dramatically in over 30 years, despite all the technological advances... wow. So although he deserves accolades, I don't think it's very fair to the other people to give him all the credit. Though I may be wrong in my details.

It is true that one man must not be given all credit if he has been one of a team. The article that took me to the founder was the one for which I posted the link too. However, I have no qualms abut bowing my head and paying tribute to Sir.Lawrence Roberts too for giving me this great facility. In fact, my son mentioned another person Tim Berners .I shall check that out too.Whatever, and thanks to all of them!!!
