Hi everyone,
Few weeks ago I watched 'Shutter' alone at night. It was a horror movie. Some scenes there just freaked me out, almost gave me heart-attack..lol. I was about to jump and scream. That night I could not sleep. But I enjoyed it. They other scary movies which I should mention are 'The Ring' and 'Grudge'. They can give you nightmares also.
So, what is the scariest movie you have ever seen in your life and what was your reaction after that?

I would agree with you on Shutter. Watched it in theater with two of my friends and we were like so freaking screaming like every 10 minutes, lol lol. I've watched the Exorcism of Emily Rose. It wasn't so scary but I'm just proud that I watched it alone, lol. Another good one is The Eye starring Jessica Alba. If you're really into screaming, Vacancy is the best, so thrilling. happy

Well, I am proud of myself that I watched Shutter alone. It was too scary. Especially the scene where the ghost was coming down through a ladder. I got surprised when my brother did not find it much scary. Anyway, thanks for your response. And I'll surely watch those movies that you mentioned here coz I do enjoy watching scary movies. Have a great day...

Hi darkdesire_0

THE SHINING, a 1980 horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick starring Jack Nichoson is the scariest movie I've seen. It was creepy and diabolic. The atmosphere was incredibly scary and one of the best fright movie. It's a chilling film.

happy Have a nice mylotting day!

The Exorcist is still the scariest movie I've seen to this day. I saw it when I was 11, and again at age 33. I think it's just the use of a child that makes it even more scary.

The second most scary movie I saw recently was Zombie's Halloween remake. Oh my lord!!! It was just disturbing, and it makes you start to question your own self as you watch.

hey, I dont mean to be off topic, but did you know there was a supposed curse of the exorcist? some people died during the making or something like that I seen it on E! and when the girl is tied to the bed and shes twitching and bouncing and screaming and stuff....those screams were real lol she pulled a muscle in her back while bouncing around like that so she was seriously screaming from the pain in that scene, just thought that was some cool information about that movie that you might not already know.

There's a great deal of lore associated with the house it was filmed in, as well as the staircase, which is just plain creepy. I had heard stories about there being a phantom figure above her when she's crawling down the stairs backwards. I've also heard that those who have tried to sleep in the house have all died, though I think it's pretty unfounded but it makes for a great Urban Legend.

I'm so sure I believe in all of it because the premise of The Exorcist was using a Babylonian/Assyrian God, Pazuzu. His myth is that he was the God of Wind, the wind bearer, and bringer of storms and drought. I find it interesting that The Exorcist went with yet another deity not of the Christian myth, to give as the "Devil". Because, interestingly enough even though he himself is considered "Evil", he supposedly would drive away other evil spirits thus protecting people.

I know that I read somewhere that the story idea came from an actual case, but that case was actually proven by the Church to be a hoax. Of course, a great many of these types of stories I think would be truly hard to prove or disprove because possession is based upon one's belief. And from I know the Roman Catholic church is the only church that does exorcisms, save a few rogue evangelicals that I don't trust because they are on the spot, do not investigate and tend to think everyone is possessed. The Catholic Church has a very strict set of guidelines for declaring someone possessed and they are very reserved in the area. Though, apparently the original rite of exorcism was recently rewritten and there is a great deal of commentary about it in the ecclesiastical world. (A lot of people do not like the new version).

Just some interesting tid bits, off topic. Nice chat!!

I'll definitely have to see "Shutter" when I get the chance, it sounds quite scary! When I watch movies I usually am by myself, or I should say I'm usually alone with my 5 cats and when "we" watch a scary movie they get as scared as I do...lol!

I'm not sure what movie I'd say is the scariest I've ever seen in my life but one of them would definitely be the original "Psycho". I still get the creeps whenever I take a shower at night when I'm in the house by myself! Of more recent films I'd have to mention "Vacancy", which I saw recently and "1408" and "Identity".

Hi darkdesire..
Mine would be Amityville Horror
I just watched it a couple days ago, and hell it's freaking me out..
Hahaa, I watched it together with my sister, and we kept watching it with no sound
Hahaaa.. Even we're afraid, we kept watched it till the end
What made us scared is that we also live in a storey house, and my sis room is the only room in the second floor
my sis saw a boy standing next to her bed when she was still a child
That bad experience kinda haunting us till now..;-P
Ah and the best thing from the movie that scares us is that it was "based on a true story"
...
Both of us can only stared at each other when we saw those words
Hahaaa, thanks!!
