I want my stuff back! |
|
I lent my friend my favourite jacket and I am still waiting for it to returned! We have lost touch a while back; she had my jacket for a few months back then. I guess I won't be wearing the jacket anymore if she returned it because I'm quite sure it is out of fashion by now, after all it has been 3 years! I've been through this a few times in my life, people have borrowed CDs, books etc... And a lot are yet to be returned. Why won't people give stuff back?
OK people time to fess up, what do you have right now that belongs to somebody else? Or are you still waiting for something to be returned to you? Talk to me, please...

2. howardskip (2023) | 9 months ago | Yeah, I had encountered this situation before many times... I still don't know why they are doing it, maybe because he/she is your friend and it would be just ok not to return it to you for now... but I didn't encountered a case like yours where it already took 3 years and still she didn't returned it... I always have a sort of communication to my friends so I can always text/call them when I need the stuff they borrowed...

3. jziakhan (389) | 9 months ago | Most people do that because of their greed, they ask you if you could give them what they want (ofcourse, they know you won't deny), then they take it, show a bit of gratefulness and walk away, and that's the last you'll see about your stuff. I think there is a name for this, it's called Stealing! If it was borrowing, you would probably have ad your stuff back by now, but since they don't return it and keep it for themselves we can call it stealing, although you can never really tell that particular person they stole stuff from you because they are your friends, but atleast you know what has happened. 4. notlistening2 (10579) | 9 months ago | Well sorry to tell you, I don't have a problem like this, because I don't loan none of my stuff out, to any one because, I don't trust people, I know people won't give it back, that's why I don't loan it out, and I don't ask to borrow any thing from any one either, if I see something someone has, I don't ask to use it, I buy my own, I seem this person with a camcorer, I brought me one, I did loan my camcorer out to my niece, and I kept reminder her to give it back to me, I guess she got tired of me saying something about it, I got it back I don't loan it out any more, I am scared some one will steal it.

5. pweety_princess (1725) | 9 months ago | Sometimes people hope to be able to keep the things and hope that the person they borrowed it from has so many things on there mind that they forgot about it and who gave it to them.
3 years? Well that's not such a great friend then, is it?
You should never give anything to anybody to lend if it is special to you. No matter if they get angry.

9. mammamuh (523) | 9 months ago | I don't think I have something here that someone wants back! I hope they will tell me if it's so!
I have a couple of things that people have borrowed from me that I haven't gotten back. One of the things is a baby sling that I was going to lend to another friend now as she had her baby a month ago, but the person that borrowed it hasn't returned it nor called me about it - I've tried to get in touch with her several times. She's had it for a year now!

| 10. lindenmayer (25) | 9 months ago | Oh wow. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your jacket to someone. In my opinion, you should just let it go. You're not going to get it back, she might have already thrown it away, and even if she hasn't you really don't want to have to talk to her in order to get it back.
I know that an old friend of mine has one of my mom's dvds. It really upset me because it was Finding Neverland, which my mom still hasn't seen. Anyways, my friend was a HUGE Johnny Depp fan so I lent it to her so her and her mother could watch it. And I asked for it back a couple times before our friendship ended and she would simply tell me that she forgot. I never pushed it but now I wish I had.
The only things that I can think of that I still have that belong to someone else are my best friend from middle school's hair scrunchie, and an old crush's hoodie. Now the scrunchie is torn and bright silver so I hardly ever wear it. I can't get myself to throw it away though because she was such a big impact on my life. The hoodie on the other hand was given to me by the guy. I've never worn it in public and it doesn't have his scent anymore but it's still something of his and he was important to me as well. He might have only been a crush but I still hold onto it and if he were to ask for it back today I would tell him I threw it out because I didn't want to be reminded of him. Hehe, that sounds silly.
