Obama loses his teleprompter. He suggests give a kid with asthma a breathalyzer test but catches himself. This is a followup to a previous discussion and really does show he is not quite the glib orator. He tries to give signs that he has lost his connection. Opinion?

I bet he was pretty mad when he saw it played back and what a fool he made of himself. No doubt his protectors got an earful that they allowed the telepromter to fail.

In this age, the glory days of eloquent oration are long gone. It bothered me when people mocked and continue to mock President Bush (will farrel). I think we all should have more respect for the office and focus on policy and truth instead of style. I'm no fan of Obama's policies (or Bush for that matter) but U.S. citizens should hold the office in higher esteem for a day when the title can be respected again.

I am just hoping that the day will come again. As for Bush he may have made some speaking errors but the man had dignity and class. IO cannot say that for his successor.

I have noticed that too...
He reminds me of kids doing their first public
speaking presentation...ours begin at about age 8
when in 4H...My kids do not feel intimidated to
stand up and speak their peace.
He should have practiced better as a youth!

In his youth he was probably spending all his time studying the Koran in the predominantly Muslim schools he attended.

Lol, that is funny. Bush had some famous slip ups. I'm sure we'll get a few from Obama, too. They should be required to read their speech at least once, just in case, especially Obama, who seems to be completely lost without the teleprompter.
Yep, ghostwriters are the real heroes behind the glorious speeches, not different from other presidents. One ought to be careful because if one doesn't pay enough attention, something nasty could be slipped in, and before you know it, it's read off the prompter.
Really good orators are great at winging it. It's more from the heart anyway.

LOL! Arent they all. I think it is weird that someone else writes all their stuff and makes their thoughts. Why are those people not running the country. I did not know he said this, but wow kids with asthma are intoxicated now.

He normally is pretty eloquent when he speaks, here he just seems really out of sorts. I think he really was just really tired, he didn't seem to have his usual charisma. I am no liberal believe me, but I have to say we all speak badly at times. When I am sleep deprived I can not function well at all let alone run a country. It was pretty nice to see the human side of him.

Uh oh that looks stupid! I think he should have managed to speak something about it being the President and all. I don't think he knew much about the situation or the topic at all. Not a sign of being smart. I think I should have overestimated him. He is charismatic though lol. I doubt if this opinion of mine would still be the same without his speech writer though. I think Bush was terrible too more so than Obama as he invented his own words like misunderestimate or something like that. I think Bill Clinton was really great in such aspects. He was awesome in handling such situations and had a really good sense of humour.

Bill Clinton would have made the best of such a situation....I do not think he would suggest giving asthmatic kids breathalyzers instead of inhalers!!!
