Do you still shop for what you Want or what you Need

At this time of economic crisis we really need to budget and prioritize those things that we buy. We buy only what are mostly needed like food, medicines. Before, I often go to department stores/malls and buy things for myself usually clothes, shoes, bags. Now, if I go to malls, I just do window shopping. I cut off buying instantly clothes, shoes, bags, gadgets, appliances.

I shop for the things I need first then if I have any money left I get the things I want. You know it dose not matter to me I just love to shop weather it be the things I need or the things I want. Shopping is away for me to clear my mind and think if I am mad I go shopping (if I have the money) to cool down and get happy again and then I forget why I got mad in the first place. I don't know why but shopping helps me with a lot of things I wonder if any one else dose this when they shop.

i just dont shop. seriously, i only run out to get what i need unless it is a very good deal (like i got a pair of pants for $4.00) but normally, i just get what i need these days. i avoid the mall like a plague! so i guess you could say that i have 'cut' off shopping.

We are only getting what we need. And we have no growing children so our clothing and shoes last a lot longer. We are going to the goodwill and other 2nd hand shops for work cloths

In todays global economic crisis, so many people are affected. So when you still have the means to buy & shop for what you need, that is truly a blessing. Now if you can the extra to buy something that isnt a necessity, just because you want it, that one should really be thankful for that. As for me, I usually get the things we need first, like food, medicines, etc. Then if there's more left, we save. Seldom do I shop for something that I want, unless its really,really cheap & it is of great use to me. For example, I got myself a new earmuff on ebay (cost: $1.99). I want it because the cold weather here is so excruciating, I want & need that to protect my ears.... I used to collect perfumes just because I want it but now, I am trying to finish the whole bottle first before I get myself a new one. Happy Mylotting!

I don't care much for shopping especially for clothes because I can never find anything that fits me right. So, I usually only shop for clothes when I really need something. I don't mind shopping for groceries because I can find some good deals but clothes is another story. Happy lotting

I still buy some things that I want like clothes and shoes but seldom. I stopped changing my cellphones every now and then to save more money

Well, most of the time, I only go shopping when I need something. Very rare would I go out shopping for something I want. Some of the items that I have cut to save money? Hmm... looking at the spending habits I have, it is not much to cut. Cos whatever I spend on is what I need to get by. Nothing extravagant.

For now I can do both. I mostly shop for the things I need such as comsumables, like food and fuel. Howver I can spend some moeny on some of my wants such as DVD'S or a new book. but still I must watch what I spend. There are some things I would like to get but I msut hold off because they are too expesive for now and there are other things I do need that require a that a spend a lot for.

hehe,i am a reasonable man,and i only buy my needs not want. When i go to shop, i must have the aim before, what i wanna buy there, and take money enough, just enough for what i need, which would prevent me from shopping more than i need. Yeah, i like to save money to prepare for the future life. i think it is good habit. :-)

I normally shop for what I need, unless I have some extra cash. Then, I would spend it on something I want. But I really need to save up a lot cuz the things that I want are pretty expensive. Hehe..

with the crisis occured, unfortunately I have not much to the superfluous, and can only buy what I really need, what is strictly necessary, and also to try to do this more economically feasible.

i shop for both;shop for what i want and shop for what i need..but i always try to find similar item with lower price..usually i shop what i want on internet or any bundle store to save lot's of money..

I still do buy some things that I need, but not as much as I used to. I have pretty much stopped buying new clothes lately, because I know that I already have enough clothes that are in good condition without buying more. I love clothes shopping, and I used to do it more frequently, but I had cut back on it a lot now. I also try to be really careful when I go food shopping. Obviously, that is a need, but I am more careful now to buy things that are on sale, and I try to stick with the generic stuff instead of the more expensive brands.

Hi, strawberrychocodahai! When I shop, I don't buy a bunch of paper. I just buy what I need. I no longer buy what I want because my money will not allow me to buy what I want. I only shop for what I need.

I have decided since my children are grown, that its time for me! I am spending more money on myself as all my life I bought for my kids and very seldom anything for me! The time has come to get the things I want for myself after a lifetime of giving to others!...and I still buy for them too

yes , as you said, many times i want to by somethings ,but i can't do that .i must save money for buy it . and a man don't like shoping . many times i will ask my girlfriend buy it to me ( of course i will give her the money).lol.. it's very happy that receive somethings from my girlfriend..hehe..have a great day!! welcome to my discussions!!

i tend to shop for the things i want ..even if i say to myself i don't need it temptation steps in, and i think most people experience this difficulty. so what i try to do is go window shopping with no cash see what i need n come with exact money the next day to buy it . this helps a little. I've cut off shopping for shoes girls best thing ..lol but yes i think this has saved me lot of money.
