What is it with these idiots and negative tagging??? What point does it make??? |
|
I have just noticed a discussion by a mylot member and friend that is a perfectly intelligent post, yet some dicknosed tosser has decided to go and put tags there that label it is worthless and "donotrespond" and things like that! Seriously, what's the point of placing tags like these????
Putting a tag such as "violation" and "reported" if the discussion IS in violation and been reported makes perfect sense, but why place ones like I've just outlined in the first instance? How stupid. So is this yet another case of bored wankers with nothing better to do? Probably!
Be honest now, have you been guilty of placing tags like these? What about ridiculous tags in general? (When I say ridiculous tags, I mean tags that are harmless but silly)

1. Jakker27 (3910) | 9 months ago | Sometimes it's like a little war or maybe people think others steal their topics. If you feel it is unjust you can give their responce a - negative rating. You know what some people are like. The internet is a dangerous place where people can hide behind being anoymous.
I don't think you'll get many admitting to doing it but then again you might get one or two who will probably tell everyone the tale or whatever.
The tagging system is for searching, and putting these words in doesn't effect a discussions ability to be found so it's a waste of time all round. If people have something to say, they should have the guts to respond in discussion or not at all

richiem (1473) | 9 months ago | So they have started another kind of war here.
The Tagging War.
They can tag as much as they want. It's a more harmless war than the Ratings War. Ratings affect the rankings while tagging doesn't really affect anything. I, for one, doesn't really use the search bar much.

kissieme (427) | 9 months ago | you got a good point there mysdi. I've never seen the do not respond tag yet but whenever I come across postings that have no tags in it, I just skip it. I just thought that the tagging makes it easier for searcher to look for certain topics they like but not to do harm on other mylotters... it really happens here?:-O
| |
|
|
James72 (6963) | 9 months ago | Yep, it happens here alright! And you're correct in saying that placing tags helps us search. Before I start any new discussion myself, I search for similar tags to make sure I don't post something that's already been done. Without tags, the chances of repetitive dicussions being posted would be much higher than what they are already.

|
|
kissieme (427) | 9 months ago | aha! thanks james. actually i posted a discussion last night.I remember putting tags on it but when I checked it today, the tags are gone and some who had responded to my posting put an embarrassing tag when my topic is not even related to it. waaah! it's weird...

3. MYKLJ999_VERSION_2 (2981) | 9 months ago | I've been "troll tagged" so many times now that I just ignore it.
I've pretty much decided that anything I do here will be messed with somehow, so I try not to even look at tags...hell, it's getting to the point I'm about ready to quit reading responses.

MYKLJ999_VERSION_2 (2981) | 9 months ago | Every single discussion I post in the religion interest gets troll-tagged. Zu asked me what was up with the tags...I hadn't looked 'til then.
It doesn't seem to affect anyone responding, so I just ignore it...but it is kind of childish.

4. mammamuh (523) | 9 months ago | I've never done that, and I seldom even give a negative rating - I have reported a few discussions, but those did not follow the guidelines.
I guess there are some people here that likes to just ruin things for others!
I know there are people rating discussions and or responses negative if they don't agree with the subject.
There is poeple for every thing you know!

_soonernation_ (762) | 9 months ago | Yes, I've been a victim of the negative rating. I've been responding the last couple of days in the Religion and Politics interests and have seen my 'reputation rating' go down down down. I'm not worried about it though. I don't expect people to agree with me. I don't rate them negative just because they are wrong though. As I've said in previous discussions; all responses (agreeable and disagreeable) are positive. They all add to the discussion. And help earnings! Unless of course they violate the rules.

7. alokn99 (2909) | 9 months ago | No. Never would i put a tag that is senseless in any discussion. The tag would have relevance to the post and i try and put as many as i can at that point of time. Some may be common ones but i would put one every time.
People like the one you have referred to certainly seem to be getting a kick out of doing things like this. If they have a problem with a discussion, report it. If there is no violation there request will be rejected. Maybe it oes not make sense to them. And if that is the case, get on and go on to some other discussion which you feel like responding to.
Every now and then we seem to come across some wierdo's here James.

8. dawnald (9534) | 9 months ago | Actually I almost never look at the tags. But negative no, silly yes. Mostly I just put "Dawn" in the tag. And I only do it so that if I go back to the discussion and reply again, it doesn't ask me for a tag again. It's a cheating shortcut, that's all. I do put silly tags on my own discussions sometimes.

10. royal52gens (3287) | 9 months ago | I saw some of the negative tagging a few weeks ago. I have not seen any lately. I usually don't pay too much attention to the tags unless it jumps out at me. I usually pay attention to the topic of the discussion. I might leave a silly tag or a tag that describes the topic. I never leave tags that are mean or negative. I don't know why some people do this.
