I have been booking my tickets on-line via orbitz or expedia. booking on-line is must easer for me. I have not used a travel agent in a long time. I use orbitz for my airfares and I like to use expendia for my hotel. From now on it I will make resivations with the net sites, I will only go to a travel agent usnless it beceomes nessecery for some reason.

I always make my own travel arrangements, that way if they are messed up then I have no one to blame but myself! I go online and look for myself what the best deals are that I can find for the time that I am traveling and if I need a car or hotel then I book those myself also, works best for me so far! ;)

When I was younger I used a travel agent to book my tickets, but now that it has become possible to book everything online I prefer to do it that way. I never buy package tours, I prefer to arrange everything myself. It is often cheaper to do it that way and I get everything exactly the way that I want it. When I was going to Stockholm and Helsinki I arranged everything through the internet: Plane tickets, ferry tickets, hotels, insurance etc. I also used the internet to plan our sightseeing and other activities.

My husband has a cousin that works in a travel agency, so we let her do the booking. She just communicate with my husband for details and price. So I can not answer which method is good. I think it is better if you know somebody who you can be trusted and is acurate about prices and what day is more convinient. Or maybe booking online is good for you are the one who will be picking flights.

I used a travel agent a couple times but I didn't see any better benefit than when I make the arrangements myself. In some instances I got better deals doing it myself.

I am an independent traveler so I usually look to buy my airline tickets and travel insurance on the Internet. I booked direct with the airline to go to South Africa but if it had been cheaper I would have booked it with a budget minded travel agent. I go to a bookshop and buy a book about the destinations I plan to go to on a trip. I might get a one country guide like Belize or a multi country guide that covers all of Central America. Before I went to the USA I booked my train tickets to pick up in Los Angeles. I usually book accommodation in advance for my first couple of nights and then use my accommodation listings in my travel guide book. However in Lisbon every listing was full around the square we were at so I asked a guest house owner to suggest an alternative choice nearby.

We often do the booking ourselves - it's convenient, faster and cheaper. If I require a guided tour, especially when I'm travelling with my parents, then only I would go through the travel agent.

i have never booked a vacation through a travel agent, i always book my packages online. its a lot more convenient and that way i can compare the prices from multiple websites within minutes which makes my decision a lot easier and look at pictures of whereever i may be staying

I have never seek the help of a travel agent with all my travels. I find it more convenient booking online and planning for the entire trip. I also think it is more expensive if I go through a travel agent.

I normally book my tickets through travel agents, come to think of it, it's their job. They know and have the best deal. They give you discounts that personally you won't be entitled to. Other than hand, sometimes i just have a favourite airline to certain places.
