One of things I enjoy doing is taking a piece of furniture from a thrift store and restore it. I went to Goodwill two days ago and saw a battered coffee table. It really should of being in a dump some place, but 1 hour later with some cleaning and stain. It has turned out to be a wonderful piece. How about you Myloters out there do you enjoy restoring furniture if so what have you restore?

I never have, but only because I really don't have the room and storage for doing the restoring work. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun (and a lot of work) to take something that is battered and unwanted and turn it back into something functional!
I love eco-friendly crafts and hope you can post some images! Congrats to you on this eco-friendly craft

I never have myself but I have thought about doing it because I have been told you can create a business out of that. I think it is neat to recycle anything and put it to use again. I would like to see a before and after picture if you have one. That would be a great thing to see. Anyway happy mylotting and have a great day!

I love getting thrift items and re-doing them. If you really look at the object, you can usually see the beauty that it used to have, and the potential for what it can be (again.) I've refurnished tables, desks, and reupholstered chairs. I got a wooden desk for $5 bucks one time, and after stripping off the paint and giving it new drawer handles, it was a beautiful desk underneath all that. I have a nice cherry wood table I redid, it's so satisfying to take something that started out ugly from years of use, and then do some work on it and have it come out so nice :-)

I have not redone any furniture from the thriftstore but I used to buy other things there to reinvent and it worled out well. I may start doing it again and taking the stuff to the flea market.
