Kioki Foot Pads: Has anyone used them? Do you believe in them? | | My husband went nuts when we heard about those foot pads that are supposed to take toxins out of your body when applied to the feet. I had ordered them for him about six months ago and he was nuts while waiting for them to come in the mail.
Well, they came... and they sat. I have no idea why he was so excited to get them, then not use them. But, that is not why I'm writing this discussion.
Another myLotter, one of the good friends I've met here, had a discussion about cleansing the body of toxins. That got me to thinking about those foot pads. Well, I used them last night for the first time. So did my husband.
As claimed, this morning both mine and his were dark brown. Well, HIS were darker than mine, but I eat better than he does. The thing is, I have a mountain of health problems so I honestly thought mine would be darker than his, but I was wrong.
The issue is, though, have you tried them? If so, did you try them for the full course until these pads were no longer dark when you took them off and did you feel better afterwards?
I just don't want to go two full weeks with sticky feet in the morning! LOL That is, if they don't really do anything. I'd LOVE to think that they do help, but I don't know a soul who has used them and felt tons better afterwards.
So, have you? Do you? Would you recommend them?

The best way to rid your body of toxins is to eat right, drink plenty of water, and get enough exercise. Our bodies are designed to heal themselves when we take care of them the right way.

mentalward (4367) | 10 months ago | I believe the same as you about getting and staying healthy. I do eat much better than my husband, but I still get more than my share of infections (probably because of my medical problems). I drink more water, eat more fruit and veggies, so I just don't know.
I thought they were a scam, too, and would never have bought them myself. But, that's why I wrote this discussion. I guess I should have started this discussion BEFORE starting to wear these things, but, well, you know... hindsight is always 20/20! LOL
My husband MAY have dirtier feet than I do because he takes showers, I bathe in the bathtub. I scrub from head to toe to exfoliate. My feet LOOKED clean last night; so did his, but he also drinks a lot of beer and eats way more junk food than I do.
I'll just keep an eye out on the responses here to see if anyone has actually used them AND benefitted from them, or not.

mentalward (4367) | 10 months ago | They claim that they should rid your body of toxins within a week. I didn't want to buy them, but my husband went nuts when he saw them advertized. I thought they cost too much, too, but he was insistant on buying them... then didn't use them until last night. He's a VERY strange person.
But, I'm like you. I NEVER sleep longer than 3 hours at a time. I got up with them on and walked to the bathroom. They have sticky pads that go over them so they'll stay on your feet, although it felt kind of "squishy" to walk on them. I kept them on for 8 hours.
As anxious as my husband was to buy them, he said last night that the manufacturers of these things COULD have put something in them like apples or potatoes or something... something that will turn dark when exposed to the air, since they're sealed in an airtight package until you open them.
I'll tell you, though, I'm dizzier than normal this morning. I don't know if it's just one of my symptoms flaring or if it's caused by these foot pads. Unless I hear someone say that they're worthless, I'll use them for a full week and see what happens.

| | 3. lologirl2021 (1639) | 10 months ago | I have bought them for my boyfriend and he swears when we wears them at night that he sleeps better and he loves them. I have never persoanlly used them, but when he does take them off at night its like sweat, water and alot of black and brown stuff are in those pads. It;s really weird how they work, but they do work.
You can pruchase some pads like these from walgreens if you have one near by, so you dont have to order them online and pay for shipping. I live close to alot of walgreens. Hopefully you enjoyed them. Happy Mylotting

mentalward (4367) | 10 months ago | Grandma, I know EXACTLY what you're saying!!!
I saw a new doctor last week, an internist. I've been getting pretty sick of the doctors I have now who just want to give me more pills. I'm on 10 pills now! I take 8 of them on a regular basis and 2 of them on an 'as needed' basis. I'm so tired of them!
This new doctor said he wants me to get off of some of these drugs. I LIKED HIM IMMEDIATELY!!! I take Lyrica for my fibromyalgia. I guess my rheumatologist prescribed it simply because it's the ONLY official drug prescribed specifically for fibromyalgia. BUT, quite a few of my medications are interacting with each other, causing my brain to function pretty poorly. I can't think, concentrate, remember things, etc. anywhere NEAR what I used to be like! I had a mind as sharp as a tack but now, well, if you read the response above yours, you'll understand the extent of my brain problems... I couldn't find my glasses that I was already wearing!
So, this new doctor wants me to wean off the Lyrica to see if it's actually helping with the pain or not. So far, I haven't seen any difference in my pain level. Getting off Lyrica may not help my pain level, but it could very well help my brain to function better!
I'd MUCH rather use natural things as opposed to man-made drugs! I've started really looking into herbs and their specific healing powers This new doctor also suggested acupuncture and Yoga as alternative therapies. (I'll try the Yoga first, though... don't really like the thought of all those needles sticking into my body! )
Also, because my husband has been such a bad boy lately, he's now trying to make up for it and has been researching fibromyalgia and alternative treatments. It seems there may be something about the mitochondria that causes the symptoms of fibromyalgia, or it could simply be a marketing strategy because I'd have to go to this 'clinic' and be tested up the wazzu, for which my insurance wouldn't cover a penny.
Right now, though, I'll try any and all natural treatments I can find. Whether these foot pads really help or not is still a question.

Grandmaof2 (4375) | 10 months ago | I don't think the pads will do half as much harm as all these pills. I looked up fibromyalgia in my book. I have a good book and it does state that acupressure and moderate exercise are essential. It suggests twenty minutes of aerobic exercise three times a week. Emotional stress NOT GOOD. Also suggests learning to relax properly and doing deep breathing. Sorry but acupuncture is also suggested.

| | 5. dragon54u (9805) | 10 months ago | I saw a news story about them and according to their tests they don't work and the brown stuff is just normal dirt and sweat from your feet, not your body's toxins. But there are people that swear by them!
I have read that a baking soda poultice works just as well and cost pennies instead of dollars.

|
mentalward (4367) | 10 months ago | Awesome, dragon. Thank you! It kinda makes you wonder, though, just WHERE that dirt has been hiding! I soak in the bathtub every day. I scrub from head to toe to exfoliate. My feet don't LOOK dirty but that was some nasty brown color on those pads!
However, I was also very skeptical about them. I've thought that it was strange that so much garbage can come out through our feet when there's a ton of it up towards to the top of our bodies! Why not put the pads where they'd do the most good? Just never made sense to me.
But, since my husband paid for them, why not give them a try? One thing I CAN say for sure is that I'm not feeling the least bit better today, although I did get 5 hours of sleep last night instead of my usual 1 to 3 hours of straight sleep. It probably had absolutely nothing to do with the foot pads, though. I do, occasionally, get more than 3 hours of sleep at a stretch.
Maybe I'll just let my husband try them for the rest of the week and see how he feels. One problem, though... he's a definite hypochondriac so I really can't rely on his view of the truth regarding health.
I kinda thought these things weren't anywhere near as good as they claimed, otherwise we'd see them advertized, and sold, everywhere! I don't know of a single doctor who has ever recommended them.
I'll have to try that baking soda poultice idea, though. It can't be a bad thing to rid the body of dirty pores!

| | 6. pergammano (2020) | 10 months ago | Hi, my girl! jUst a question about your foot pads? Does it give a list of active ingredients...and if so, look them up on the internet! You may be absorbing, by osmosis, something that is contraindicated to your "meds!" There are so many chemicals that interact badly with each other! Are these things suggesting that body toxins, can be eliminated by the feet...as that is your lowest point of gravity? Haven't seen them advertised...but then I am skeptical of most "infomercial" goodies! Cheers, know I love ya!
| |
| |
|
|
mentalward (4367) | 10 months ago | You know, I hadn't thought of that! These things could be sucking my meds right out of my body or causing a chemical reaction of some sort! I've been very dizzy most of the day and only in the past hour or so have I gotten back to 'normal'!
I haven't read the ingredients and I'm quite surprised that my husband hasn't either, being the hypochondriac that he is! I'll suggest it to him because he LOVES looking up stuff like that.
THANK YOU!!! I had actually decided to just let him use them for a week and see how he feels afterwards so I wasn't planning on putting more on tonight anyway, but you've definitely opened my eyes to an area I hadn't thought of and could very well be VERY important!
But, I'm also weaning off of Lyrica so that might be what is causing the dizziness. The new doctor I saw last week doesn't like me being on so many meds and has suggested I try to wean off of some of them, beginning with Lyrica. Too many of my meds interact with each other, causing more sleepiness, drowsiness and/or dizziness, which might account for my poor brain functions! I like this new doctor because he's way more into alternative therapies.
I'm growing a lot of herbs that could help me, including some I hadn't even thought of as herbal supplements before! In my research into them, I've learned that there are quite a few plants that have the same effect as some of my medications! For instance, I'm growing feverfew which not only helps in reducing fevers but also helps with inflammation. I'd MUCH rather drink a tea of feverfew than to keep taking Naproxen! I'll be starting these herbal supplements as soon as they've grown enough to harvest!
Did you know that the coleus plant has some of the same properties as pot? LOL Yep, only much milder, AND legal... I can "light up" my coleus (which I have growing in the house right now waiting for the day it can be planted outside) and get a good, restful sleep instead of taking all these stupid, man-made drugs! Also, there are all kinds of natural pain killers... some even come from BC!
Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you for suggesting that I read the ingredients on these foot pads! I doubt they work, anyway, or else we'd be hearing more about them, but I'll let my husband have some fun with them. Since he IS a hypochondriac, they'll probably cure everything he "thinks" he has wrong with his body, including his thinning hair!

| | 7. Opal26 (10118) | 10 months ago | Hey mentalward! I hate to say it, but I'm afraid that they are just another gimick to make money! Do you really think that they are really going to do anything but make your feet sticky and make the pads look icky? I just might be a skeptic, but I don't believe every advertisement I see on tv! And this is one of them that I just don't believe! I'm sorry! We all have all kinds of toxins in our body, but I just don't believe that by putting a sticky pad on our feet that they are going to miraculously make us feel wonderful! I won't believe this no matter what anyone says, sorry! Waste of money in my book!

| | 10. moonlitmagikchild (7151) | 10 months ago | i have heard they are fake.. some one told me that they tested them on tv and it would show that it took out toxins even when it didnt and that the whole thing is a scam.. BUT i have heard people rave that get swelling in their feet and legs that it reduces swelling.. but to me the soles of your feet are tough and thick compared to other places on your body so how the heck will it draw the stuff out through that?!?
