Kioki Foot Pads: Has anyone used them? Do you believe in them? |
|
My husband went nuts when we heard about those foot pads that are supposed to take toxins out of your body when applied to the feet. I had ordered them for him about six months ago and he was nuts while waiting for them to come in the mail.
Well, they came... and they sat. I have no idea why he was so excited to get them, then not use them. But, that is not why I'm writing this discussion.
Another myLotter, one of the good friends I've met here, had a discussion about cleansing the body of toxins. That got me to thinking about those foot pads. Well, I used them last night for the first time. So did my husband.
As claimed, this morning both mine and his were dark brown. Well, HIS were darker than mine, but I eat better than he does. The thing is, I have a mountain of health problems so I honestly thought mine would be darker than his, but I was wrong.
The issue is, though, have you tried them? If so, did you try them for the full course until these pads were no longer dark when you took them off and did you feel better afterwards?
I just don't want to go two full weeks with sticky feet in the morning! LOL That is, if they don't really do anything. I'd LOVE to think that they do help, but I don't know a soul who has used them and felt tons better afterwards.
So, have you? Do you? Would you recommend them?

11. Scoop_Dogg (1934) | 10 months ago | Hi mw,
The body naturally gets rid of toxins without the need for any fancy footwork. I would put plenty of salt and vinegar on those pads and throw them in the bin next to the cucumbers.
The only footpads that are worth using are those odour eaters, if you have smelly feet.

For as long as each of us has lived we accumulate toxins, heavy metals, chemicals. etc. in our bodies. I don't believe the bulk of this is going to leave us through our feet. Pure, clean water is the most important thing we need for our bodies and is the greatest way to keep our bodies systems running smoothly. You can live months without food but one would die in a few days without water. Here is a good site that tells about these foot pads and raises some very interesting questions about them http://hubpages.com/hub/foot_detox_pads

mentalward (4301) | 10 months ago | That's an interesting article, lilly. After reading it and the remarks under it, about half of them, I could see that those putting the foot pads down were those who had never tried them. Those who were praising them, or simply saying they work, were those who have used them or are using them.
There is definitely a black/white thing going on in that article and remarks posted after it. Who knows? I am skeptical myself, but I must say that the one night that I actually wore these things, I slept better than I normally do. That could be coincidence, I won't say it isn't.
I'll let my husband use up the pads left. After all, HE bought them, I didn't. But, I'll be keeping my eye on him to see how he reacts to them. He can swear they work but still have specific problems or he might admit that they don't work. I'll know if they work on him or not without him opening his mouth.
I guess, like anything else, you have to judge for yourself whether something works or not. I just had a nerve conduction study done this morning and was scared nearly to death because I had heard it was so painful that it just isn't worth it, but I didn't think it was very painful at all once it was going on. Oh, sure, it hurt, but not bad and I'm one of the biggest pain weenies around! So, it's a matter of personal experience, tolerance and individual bodies.
I'll still stay skeptical of those foot pads unless my husband starts jumping around the place without complaining because he's had chronic back pain for about 20 years. I'll keep everyone updated on his progress.

mentalward (4301) | 10 months ago | I'll let you know, annjilena. My husband is still using them every night and I'm keeping my eyes on him. After 3 nights now, he DOES seem to have more energy than usual, but he also had a job interview yesterday and probably already has the job because the guy he met with had already had a telephone interview with him last week, and wants to set up a meeting between my husband and Human Resources now. So, it really looks like he's got the job which may account for him having more energy. Depression zaps your energy like a thief!
I'll just keep watching him to see if he starts doing things he used to avoid because of his chronic back pain. If he starts doing cartwheels, I'll be using those foot pads myself! LOL

mentalward (4301) | 10 months ago | That's very true, Pam. I don't see how these things could help, at least not by much. My husband is using them every night now and I'm watching him to see if there's any change in his energy level or anything else.
It MIGHT just be that the people who swear by them are simply being affected by positive thinking. If they BELIEVE they'll work, they probably will. It might be nothing more than a placebo-type thing. But they ARE rather expensive! I'd rather use specific healing herbs in a tea than rely on foot pads to make me feel better.
I'll just have to keep an eye on my husband and see how these things affect him (or not).

15. reinydawn (4236) | 10 months ago | I totally agree with jillbeth and opal26. First of all, it's not by soaking bad things out, but by putting good things in that will help with your health. And, I think that some of these gimicks are a "mind over matter" kinda thing.
About 2 years ago, my husband and I switched our vitamins. We took their 90-day money-back guarantee challenge. Within 90 days my husband was off his cholesterol prescription and within 6 months he was off his high-blood pressure prescription. We're hardly ever sick - and since my son started taking the same vitamins he's only had 1 cold.
Eating right is the key, but it's hard to get the vitamins and minerals we need from our depleted soil, so suppliments are almost a must. But you need to make sure they're good ones. I can tell when I've taken the Sam's Club brand - I usually feel a bit lethargic.
I do hope this helps you all, but I seriously think it will only help as long as you psych yourself up about it. Definitely keep us updated!!!

koalatbs (568) | 10 months ago | Hi reinydawn -
What kind of vitamins did you & your husband switch to? Right now, we just started taking a multi-vitamin by NatureMade for men & women. If they made you feel so much better, I'm interested in which ones they are. Thanks in advance!
Jill

16. penny64 (643) | 10 months ago | I have never heard of these things, but it's an interesting discussion. I'd like to know how your husband is going after using then for a while. The comments after the article are interesting, particularly the first one where she explains that the pads contain ingredients which are absorbed to stimulate the lymphatic system and detox that way. That makes much more sense than the toxins all coming out of your feet!

19. Savvynlady (2973) | 10 months ago | I got them about two months ago and the very first time I did it, I put it on wrong. Oh bummer. but I got them right and I can see where I have some stuff to detox out of my body. I am not a drinker or smoker, but curbing on eating and all. I don't think they are a fraud myself, but that's just my two cents.
