Hmmm, let's see ... Dodd received the largest campaign contributions of any rep from AIG, inserted the 'generic' exemption text into the "spendulus" bill that allows for the AIG bonuses, and to boot, Chris and his buddies in Congress each get their cost of living 'bonus'.
Sounds like they've got it all worked out.
Oh wait! What about us-- the taxpayers???

Grassley had a point for the COE's, but it is even more relevant to these sorry excuses for Congressmen.

I have sent an email to Senator Grassley's office today asking for him and other Congress men and women to bow in apology to the American people, and either resign or commit suicide. I believe they are the ones responsible for our economy. They pass the laws that either force or allow these companies to do the things they do. If they want something from a company, they pass a law to get it. If they don't like something a company is doing, they pass a law to stop it. If they need more money to fix a problem they themselves have created, they pass a law for the money. When are WE going to stop them?
BTW, I don't expect any type of response or reply to my email other than a form email thanking me for my concern. But at least it made me feel a little better.
And, it's not just Democrats..but all members of Congress. They all do it.
Maybe it's time for a new form of Government.

It would be like the Bank loaning you money, a unsecured loan, and then criticizing you for using the money for a vacation. They loan you the money with the only stipulation being that you pay the money back with interest. Should they have the right to change the terms of the contract and tell you what you can and can not spend(legally) the money on?
I think that the people in the one section of the company that lost money should not get a bonus but the people who worked and made money for the company should get their bonus. If we allow the Government to break contracts between people what will happen to the rule of law. The government will do what ever it wants.
