Making Money with Digital Photography |
|
I am retired and have started a small Photo Business. My emphisis is on Action Shots, mostly of High School sports but I also have taken many of High School Marching Bands. I sell many of them to parents. Do you make money in amature photography? What do you concentrate on and where do you sell your photos. I was suprised that small local papers are willing to purchase photos of local events and sports. One of my problems is that because I am a local photographer in a small town and I have many people want photos for free. I have gotten over the felling that I should give them a break when they do not give me a break in their business. I am in the business to sell photos.

1. suzieque (1731) | 4 years ago | Thanks for the tips. And I hope you make more money and have fun doing it! I just have a question, do you go to a photo shop and print it out and try to sell it, or you post it on a website?

Other times I run them through Photo Shop and put a water mark on them and email them to people to view. Many people see my photos in the paper and ask me if I have other photos. Thanks for the comments

4. craftwave (806) | 4 years ago | I'm hoping to buy a puzzle machine and use my photos to make puzzles to sell. Its what comes first to my mind whenever I take a picture. I think "Hey, that would make a good puzzle". As you might guess I like doing puzzles as well.

craftwave (806) | 4 years ago | Yeah there is this one company, Graffiti Graphics Ltd, that sells a package of puzzle machine, glueing machine, and boxes and puzzle boards. And several different cutting dies for the machine. I've researched what would be the best way to sell and doing group fund raisers was a great idea as well as sell online. As many puzzles as I do it would be a savings just to make them for myself. Although that might take awhile:) It takes around $10,000 or more to get started. I'm saving my pennies right now to get one. If you want to take a look the site is www.puzzlemachine.com
