I am a big fan of Dame Agatha Christie. She wrote such popular titles like "And There Were None" and "Murder on the Orient Express". The plotlines of her novels are very original and the twists she put in the endings are quite shocking. I think her books stand the test of time and even my little sister loves her stories!
Anyone else here who love Agatha Christie?

I just love the sudden twists of Hercule Poirot's cases. My office mate told me he has found a compilation of Poirot's stories. I still have to ask for it yet.

I remember the first ever paperback I read that she wrote "The Mysterious Affair at Style's" and I couldn't wait to finish and find out the culprit trying to guess and figure out before she unravels the mystery and that started me into looking for her other works. I loved reading each and everyone of them. I still have them around the house and reread them once in a while.

I completely agree with you. Her novels really did stand the test of time, and they are appreciated by a whole range of ages to this day.
I am a big fan and have basically all her books. Actually I have read them more than once:)
My daughter likes to read them as well:)

I'm also a long-time fan of Agatha Christie, inkyuboz. I believe that I have read everything she ever wrote. Of the characters she created my favorite is Hercule Poirot, followed by Miss Marple. I have spent many pleasant hours reading her mysteries! Her work will last through the ages.

Her books are very outstanding, all her characters are very unique and distinct in their thinkings.
I disagree that her plots are very original. In almost all the books I read, when the husband is murdered, the murderer is always the wife. If the wife is the victim, then the husband must be the murderer.
It's just the way she mislead the readers into suspecting otherwise.
Sherlock Holmes series are very original. Never could guess who is the murderer.

You know, I have to agree with you there...her novels have all stood the test of time, and I think that they will all continue to be a source of enjoyment for many generations to come. I enjoyed all of the ones I've read over the years. I cannot imagine her stories without Hercule Periot, or Miss Marple! She built up her characters well!! Did you know she also wrote romance novels under the name of Mary Westmacott? She was more known as 'the queen of crime' because of all of her crime/mystery novels. I haven't had a chance to read them all, but I'm working on it during the winters when I have more time to read.
