My children just went to see the new Witch Mountain movie that stars the Rock. I wondered if any of you had seen it?
Did you see the original movie from the 70's? I remember seeing Escape to Witch Mountain and Return to Witch Mountain when I was in Elementary School.
I am always leery about remakes, but my daughters assure me this one is wonderfully made. Are they right?

Lauren has read a the books. Kristen isn't much of a reader. They have not seen the originals. We were going to get it this weekend, and three video stores were sold out of it!
I am thinking of going to the library and renting the books and re-reading them. It's been a long time since I have.

Both of my girls have seen the remake and said it's a great movie. We were going to rent the original this weekend, and they were all gone from our movie gallery near the house. The lady said since the new movie had come out she couldn't keep the old one in the store!

I haven't seen the new one yet, but I'm hoping to see it! I just saw that one from the 70s about a month or so ago. I liked it as much as I did when I first saw it lol. Glad to hear your daughters liked it and gave it a good review :-)

We just rented Marley and Me last night. It was SO good! Not only was there extreme humor, it was a very heartwarming movie in some ways. It is not a 'chick flick' type movie (in my opinion); I know my son in law really enjoyed it. I laughed so hard lol. I'm an Owen Wilson fan too, and he's really shown a whole lot of different sides to his personality in this one hahaha. As much as I want to see Witch Mountain, I'd watch this one in a heartbeat again! I know what you mean about going to the movies, it's just so danged expensive anymore.

My husband and I were trying to decide if we want to do a date night and go see this one, or if we want to eat in and rent Marley and Me. I love Owen Wilson, so I definately want to see this one as well. I don't know what we'll do. We're not one for actually going to the movies. It's too expensive.

Both of my girls have been to see the remake and tell me that it is really great. Kristen said the graphics were just amazing. She hasn't seen the original. I think we're going to see if Movie Gallery has a copy of it that we can rent. I'm waiting to see if Disney does a collector's set before I purchase it.

I haven't seen the new version. Have your daughter's seen the old ones? I remember the old versions. I saw both Witch Mountains back in the day. My mom rented them for my sister and I. I don't really want to see the remake because I don't think it could match the old one. I mean I'm sure it is a fun movie, but I imagine there is more comedy in this one. Back then the movies were creepy more than funny. I saw they have just been released on DVD. I guess to capitalize on the remake coming out.
People magazine had an article about the two child stars in the movies that are now adults. Did you know the little girl (who is of course grown) is one of Paris Hilton's aunts? I am assuming she is an aunt by marriage. Both child stars still keep in touch as well.

They have not seen the old ones. We have talked about renting them and watching both. I wonder if Disney will film a remake of Return to Witch Mountain as well?
I watched a remake of Disturbia Thursday night. My grandmother and I used to watch Alfred Hitchcock every Friday night together. Talk about creepy. My husband came in and started watching, only I neglected to mention that it was Hitchcock. He gets to the end and of course it ends strangely. He went no way!

I was surprised that my girls went to see it. Since they're all grown up. They're counting the days down for the new Hannah Montana Movie! Not only them, but their boyfriends as well. I think the four of them are planning to double date and go see it on opening night. You just never know.
I can't say anything to them though. When Monsters Inc, first came out, my husband and I were the only ones there with no children!
