Witch Mountain |
| |
| My children just went to see the new Witch Mountain movie that stars the Rock. I wondered if any of you had seen it? Did you see the original movie from the 70's? I remember seeing Escape to Witch Mountain and Return to Witch Mountain when I was in Elementary School. I am always leery about remakes, but my daughters assure me this one is wonderfully made. Are they right? | | | | | |

| | They just released them on DVD, so you can buy them online, and maybe they are available at Netflix or Blockbuster online. | | | |

| | I looked at them at Best Buy, and almost bought them Friday. But then the lady the worked there told me she had heard that when this movie came out on DVD Disney was going to do a boxed set with the original and the remake together. If this is the case, then I'm going to wait, because that's something I'd like to have. | | | |

| | Hey that sounds great. I haven't been to the Redbox to see what new movies have come out lately. I am hoping to be able to see this one soon. | | | |

| | Both of my girls have been to see the remake and tell me that it is really great. Kristen said the graphics were just amazing. She hasn't seen the original. I think we're going to see if Movie Gallery has a copy of it that we can rent. I'm waiting to see if Disney does a collector's set before I purchase it. | | | |

| | I'm a big fan of Alexander Key. Probably my fav is The Forgotten Door. Here's a list of the books he wrote: The Red Eagle (1930) Liberty or Death (1936) Sprockets: a Little Robot (1963) (read it) Rivets and Sprockets (1964) (read it) The Forgotten Door (1965) (read it) Bolts: a Robot Dog (1966) Mystery of the Sassafras Chair (1968) Escape to Witch Mountain (1968) (read it) Return From Witch Mountain (1968) (read it) The Golden Enemy (1969) The Incredible Tide (1970) Flight to the Lonesome Place (1971) The Strange White Doves (1972) The Preposterous Adventures of Swimmer (1973) The Magic Meadow (1975) Jagger, the Dog from Elsewhere (1976) The Sword of Aradel (1977) The Case of the Vanishing Boy (1979) I can't honestly say I read the later ones, because I was out of school and in college and then getting jobs and stuff. | | | |

| | They have not seen the old ones. We have talked about renting them and watching both. I wonder if Disney will film a remake of Return to Witch Mountain as well? I watched a remake of Disturbia Thursday night. My grandmother and I used to watch Alfred Hitchcock every Friday night together. Talk about creepy. My husband came in and started watching, only I neglected to mention that it was Hitchcock. He gets to the end and of course it ends strangely. He went no way! | | | |

| | I haven't seen the new one yet, but I'm hoping to see it! I just saw that one from the 70s about a month or so ago. I liked it as much as I did when I first saw it lol. Glad to hear your daughters liked it and gave it a good review :-) | | | | | | |

| | My husband and I were trying to decide if we want to do a date night and go see this one, or if we want to eat in and rent Marley and Me. I love Owen Wilson, so I definately want to see this one as well. I don't know what we'll do. We're not one for actually going to the movies. It's too expensive. | | | |

| | We just rented Marley and Me last night. It was SO good! Not only was there extreme humor, it was a very heartwarming movie in some ways. It is not a 'chick flick' type movie (in my opinion); I know my son in law really enjoyed it. I laughed so hard lol. I'm an Owen Wilson fan too, and he's really shown a whole lot of different sides to his personality in this one hahaha. As much as I want to see Witch Mountain, I'd watch this one in a heartbeat again! I know what you mean about going to the movies, it's just so danged expensive anymore. | | | |

| | I was surprised that my girls went to see it. Since they're all grown up. They're counting the days down for the new Hannah Montana Movie! Not only them, but their boyfriends as well. I think the four of them are planning to double date and go see it on opening night. You just never know. I can't say anything to them though. When Monsters Inc, first came out, my husband and I were the only ones there with no children! | | | |
