No I haven't gone mad but it is in fact Mothering Sunday here in the UK and I know that in the US it is celebrated in May. My own mum arranged some flowers to be delivered to me from my sons and they all had signed the card which is great because my 4 year old has only just started writing his own name by himself. I gave my mum a lovely mug, a cd and a box of chocolates. Usually we will spend the day together and go out for a nice meal somewhere but it just wasn't possible this year because of one thing or another!!
What do you usually do for Mother's Day? What month do you celebrate Mothering Sunday in your country?

Happy Mothering Sunday, Humbug25! Ahhhhh, isn't that first card where they write their name all by their selves super special. Brings a tear to the eye. I hope you had a lovely day.

You caught me off guard there for a minute. Since I'm in the U.S. we already celebrated Mother's Day in May. Happy Mother's Day to you though!!! Usually we stay home and just hang out on Mother's Day or we go to my parent's house. I refuse to cook on that day so we usually order some kind of takeout.

I'm in the US and we celebrate in May. I usually send my mom a card or take her out to dinner. I love that your mom organizes a mothers day for you. That is so sweet... I wish my mom would do that for me. I think if I ever have a daughter, I will honor her on mothers day too. Your mom sounds like a sweet heart!

Hi ya glords
Bless her yes she is a great mum. I think she figures that if she doesn't do anything for me then no one will as my kids are still quite young and I don't have significant other! I think she would hate to think I was missing out. She did say that it was my eldest son's idea to get flowers bless him too!
Thanks for your response

Happy belated mothers day. It seems that Mother’s Day in Malta started making an appearance in the early 1970s.It is celebrated in the month of May. Usually we take the occasion of inviting our parents at our house. But lately my wife came with the brilliant idea of taking them out for lunch in a restaurant. Its a good idea of getting together and thus she can have a day off from cooking
