Yesturday i came home to my daughter crying.she had bought a new pair of leggins and sat on my new leather lounge ( which was white ) and the black dye came out of her pants all over my precious new lounge.she had tried and tried to clean it up and i also spent 5 hours last night trying to get the dye off.i was so mad at this clothing company,as i thought most clothing was colourfast.i rang the company today and complained about this situation, and wanted some one to come out and have a look at the damage the clothing had caused.they asked me to send the pants back and they would test them and take it from there.i found this strange,i actually wanted some one to come and see it.i feel if i send these back ,i really do not know what they are testing, and they could tell me anything.all i want is for them to get my lounge cleaned.would you trust them.i suppose i could cut the pants in half and send half of it back to be tested and have my half privately tested if i doubted their results.what would you do ,any suggestions appreciated.i suppose we could all sit on the lounge naked,so i wouldn't have to worry about clothing dye.cheers sue

Did she not wash the leggings before wearing them?? Some times when the dye is that strong they recommend you wash the article before wearing it but if she was just sat on the leather lounge and the dye cam out then that is bad quality. Normally dye only comes out when the product is wet. I would complain and mention that it has stained your leather lounge.
I would take photos of the leather lounge that is stained as proof in case they try to say the leggings are not faulty.

I never heard of such a thing.
This is quite terrible.
I would not send back the pants.
It is your only evidence.
I would start by contacting consumer affair... if you have such a thing.
They are selling an illegal product if you ask me.
And you can sue the pants of them. lol

hi aussie.no i am only going to send half of the pants back and keep the other half as evidence.i am really surprised they did not offer to send a area manager out to have a look.i have ben in touch with the department of fair trading, consumer affairs, and they will send me out paperwork and they will resolve this matter if i am not satisfied with the outcome.i think they know i can sue them,as the general manager has called me and rattled on about they need to test it so they can get on to their suppliers for faulty material etc.so fingers crossed, all i want is my lounge to be the same colour as i bought it.cheers sue

Hi sue, I am so sorry to learn that the pants that your daughter newly bought had left some black dye on your new leather lounge. The disgusting black stains really make the brand new white leather to look indecent and awful.
You are doing the right thing to ask the company that supplied the said product to make compensation on your lost, like to pay back a new lounge or to get the lounge cleaned. For the sake of perfect plan, and to prevent them to turn around and to do something out of our expectation as well, I agree that to send only half of it back to be tested so that you still could keep the other half sending for private test to prove the truth.

yes i am truly disgusted with this .i felt that if i sent all of the pants back they could tell me anything, and i really do not know what material has been tested.they could tell me anything to get out of fixing my lounge.so if i get mine tested as well if i do not like the results,at least i can prove that these pants were faulty.cheers sue

I would. Why not? It's most likely a manufacturing error that caused the dye to bleed. Why not try to take it back to the retail store and get some kind of merchandise credit? I'm not sure they'll pay for your couch to be cleaned, though, but you could try calling once more and maybe talking to a supervisor in charge and ask again.

they have already told me they would replace the leggins, and i am waiting for the area manager to call me back, but i feel that the quality of the clothing should be better as she paid a lot of money for them, and that the dye should not have come out in the first place.i will send them back to be tested, but i worry that they will tell me anything just to get out of it,you never know if they are actually testing the garment i sent back.cheers sue

Well, I don't think that a clothing company could send someone out to look at the damage done to your couch. However, you could probably e-mail them pictures. If you're unsatisfied with the quality of the leggings, then it might be best to request a refund and send the pants back to the company. I wouldn't cut the pants in half because I doubt that the company would give you a refund after such a thing. You do have a right to be angry, but you might want to try sending an e-mail instead with pictures of the damage done to your couch as well as a picture of the leggings in question. Then if they ask you to send the pants back to them, I'd have to suggest that you do so. Asides from that, it would probably be good to make note of this problem and not purchase leggings or such that might be dyed from the company again.

thats a good idea of taking photos,i just thought that a area manager could come and see the damage and i would get my daughter to sit on the lounge again,in the same spot and show them exactly how the damage happened, and let them see for themselves and then they may take a more serious approach to the matter.i feel that these clothing stores just produce rubbish .they have already said they would replace the leggins.thanks for the photo idea.cheers sue
