At least the next year of it! In the next two weeks I will find out if I got one grant and two fellowships. The grant is for The Room of Her Own organization. The fellowships are for Vermont and Mount Holyoke, respectively. I have also applied for a third fellowship but I won't find out abou that until the 3rd of April. Why am I finding out everything at once? Life always works that way, at least my artistic life. I'm going to be on pins and needles until all this stuff comes in. Hopefully I won't give myself an ulcer. What do you do, fellow poets, at time like this? how do you keep yourself from going nuts?

Good luck with your fellowship applications! I am not a poet but I do know what it is to often be awaiting something. What is it that made you choose poetry to express yourself?

In sixth grade, we had weekly poetry writing assignments. We could either recite or make up our own poems. After that I was addicted. Never fully stopped writing poetry after that in life. At times I put it on the back burner, but never fully stopped. About 2 years ago, I realized that it was really what I was meant to do.
