How long have you had your chap stick/lip balm?  

Well, I use my chapstick everyday. I rather put it than put on my lipstick. Mine is last for months while my lipstick will stay for almost 2 years. Yes maybe it's because I have several lipsticks in various color while I only have one chapstick . And I'll prefer the plain type from 'banana boat'.

I'm glad I checked this discussion in my email because my son did something very strange yesterday. He found some lip gloss I keep in the coffee table drawer and kept putting some on and licking it off his lips. Once he realized that everyone was looking at him like he had grown another head, he said, "It tastes good!"

He's a strange kid, even if he IS 25 years old!

I've always had sensitive skin, perhaps because my complexion is quite fair. My lips would dry out if I spent any amount of time in the sun in the summertime or when it's cold or windy outside. These days, I have two medical conditions that cause dry-mouth, which also causes dry/chapped lips. I'm forever applying and reapplying lip balm, so nothing I buy has a chance to get too old.

I prefer the flavored kind. I use them throughout the day but usually just put some petroleum jelly on my lips at bedtime... it tends to stay on longer.

I have something that 'plumps' up the lips and I LOVE that stuff! Growing older sucks but there's not much we can do about it, although this stuff (I can't remember the name of what I use, but there are several on the market) helps to reduce the appearance of aging in the lips. It's a 'wrinkle-reducer' for lips. When I first bought it years ago, I told my mother about it and she jokingly said she'd want to rub that stuff all over her body.

NOW, I know how she felt!

It's so seldom that I use Chap Stick that I don't even think I own a tube!!!

hi dragon I have my lip balm now for years and most of the time it rests unused in my office bag, lol. I buy some of this stuff every few years promise to myself to use it and it ends up unused somewhere and then after a few years thrown out.

I use lip balm all the time, so I have them scattered all over the place. There's one in my handbag, one in the little one's change bag, one in the car (nicely melted, where it's been hot!), one by the bed etc etc. Because I have so many on the go at once, they do tend to last a good while. I found some in a box of bathroom bits and pieces recently which had been packed up for quite some time, so those are probably my oldest just now. I don't suppose they count though as they've been out of commission for a while!

As for flavour, I don't really care myself though I tend to buy the ones without strong flavours and smells.

I sun burnt my lower lip a couple of weeks ago, so I'm using twice as much lip balm as usual at the moment! It's really uncomfortable without.
