How do you get rid of your unwanted books? Lately I have been taking mine to my local book exchange & getting some money for them. I'm not interested in getting any new books at present as I have way too many unread books in my book case & I'm determined to read them before I decide to keep them or not.

I have lot of old books that I would like to sell, and I took them to a couple of second hand book stores, but they didn't want to buy them, so I still have them. I didn't expect to get a lot of money for them, but I was surpriced that they didn't even want to buy them. I have decided to donate my books to charity instead. There are a lot of second hand shops that sell old things and give the money to charity. I keep some of the books that I have read, but only the ones that I like the most.

I take them to Half Price Books... which gives us some money for them but not too much. I only get rid of books if I can't stand to have them around.

i do paperbackswap only lately, i tend to need new books pretty regularly and it works out great. but since you dont want new books, have you considered putting them on amazon or ebay? a while back, i sold all my nora roberts on ebay and it was NICE extra money for me..

Most of my books I want but sometimes I try to sell or donate some. There are alot of good books and people who appreciate good books out there. It is something that is good to do. I like to read books and others like to read them as well. I think they are really good and interesting to read and to find something to do with.

Since my local library always takes book donations I am glad to contribute my books there. Of late our library does not charge late fees and the tax base has gone down because of the economy. I think the library is one of the best places to promote learning and I want to do my part.

I love doing the book exchange. That way I can get rid of books that I have already read and replace them with books that I have not yet. I do not have to put out any cash money which is good because I am broke

my mom sells her book at a recycle book shop and gets credit so she can get new books, the problem with me is, i seldom read fiction, so in my case, i go to the library a lot.
but if i do get a book and read it, i generally sell it at one of our garage sales during the summer. (we have several)
