Life on the high sea... fight or flee?

Last night and American crew was highjacked by Somali pirates. They fought back, rescued there own and showed the pirates who was boss. If you were to encounter pirates on the high sea, would you fight back, or would the survival instincts kick in and just give them what they want and hope to make it out okay?

If these American sailors are not armed with heavy weaponry,no way they can fight off these ruthless pirates, just forget about using water hose to defend yourself against them, unless you can shoot them with water laced with chemical poison . LOL!!!

If more people fought back, these pirates might start to think that the cost was a little to high. But as long as thay can continue to hijack ships and hold people to ransom, they will continue to attack shipping. They might begin to think differently if there boats came back riddled with bullets or did not come back at all from there raids.

I would fight, because that is my survival instincts. Even if i gave them everything they wanted it would not mean that i would make it out ok.
