last summer i had a health scare concerning lyme disease, and i had no idea what it was. my leg started hurting i had what looked like a little insect bite but my leg was hurting me. it was difficult to walk and the area around it was getting redder and redder. my dad thought it might be a tick bite and he insisted i go with my mom to the doctors office since she had an appointment, and he was sure that's what it was, and he prescribed some medicine for me and it went away and i seem to be fine now.
has anyone else had to deal with this disease?

Did the doctor test you for lyme? My stepdaughter and part of her family have been dealing with lyme and the other associated co-infections for a couple of years now. She has developed heart problems due to lyme and I believe arthritis, too. Her husband and one of their sons have also been diagnosed with lyme. If you had lyme, and it's possible, you should be seen by a doctor who specializes in the disease so that he can make sure you don't have any additional infections. My stepdaughter's lyme related problems didn't start right away.

i have heard that this can be a very bad disease if you don't get it taken care of right away. thankfully i did not wait too long to have it looked at. i happen to go along when my mom had an appointment and he saw it and looked at it. thankfully i didn't get charged for him looking at it cause i have no insurance. i have had no symptoms since i had the pills that were prescribed for it so hopefully it wasn't a really bad case of it like some others have gotten.

Honestly, I really don't know much about lyme disease, except that it can be carried by ticks. I had been tested for it once when I was much younger, perhaps 13 or 14 years old, but beyond that I really don't know much about it.

i didn't know much about it either. i guess until it happens to you we just think oh that won't happen to me. the thing with me is i never felt a bite or anything usually if a bug is on me i feel it. i don't remember anything crawling on me on anything so that is kind of strange. i thought it was just a bug bite that had scabbed over till it started get worse and worse.

I haven't had to deal with this, but one of my friends daughters after about a year of all kinds of different test finally figured out that is what she had. She had some very severe symptoms that mimicked other things. She is slowly recovering from it. They gave her antibiotics for it. It's a good thing you caught it early on, you could had have had a long recovery process if you hadn't have done so.

yeah the area that was all red started going away almost immediately. my worst symptom from it was fatigue i felt really tired and my leg was so sore could hardly walk just limped around on it. luckily i bounce back quickly i guess cause i havent had any symptoms since.

Thankfully no. I am glad to know that you were able to get treated for it rather easily. It's a good thing your dad insisted on you going to the doctor.
