why rabbit for easter?  |

|  i am catholic and had gone to a catholic school but it was never explained why of all animals a rabbit was chosen to be the sign of easter. and why eggs? and why does the rabbit have to look for the eggs? is it necessary that the eggs be painted?

| |  Isn't it strange that Easter has little or nothing to do with religion especially jesus.Its a paegan holiday named after the godess Eostre.She is associated with fertility and connected to the hare and eggs which of course represent new life.ie "breeding like rabbits'.The date of Easter is also nothing to do with Jesus its determined by the phases of the moon.The first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring of Equinox.....So what a load of religous balony.WE HAVE THIS HOLIDAY AND HAVE FORGOTTEN WHY WE CELEBRATE IT...WHAT A SHAME..
