And you consider 8 hours excessive? Well, I have known of friends, the ladies (pardon me) to spend 12++ hours in the salon. I think this will explain the internet enabled computers in these hair salons.

I think it is all dependable what they are in for, like treatments, dying of hair, perms and many others. So it comes as no surprise to me and 8 hours (believe me) is really nothing. Girls just like to look pretty by nature.

I take around one to two hours for my haircut. Sometimes I will have an head massage and then will have my hair washed. I think head massage is good for head and it makes me cool. They use navarathana hair oil and does a good work in massaging with head. I like to head massage very much.

I don't have 8 hours to spend in a salon!
My haircut including washing is usually 30-45 minutes...not more than that.
And that is very tight for me....because I'm usually dropping at the salon in between work (because the salon is closer to my workplace than my home).
I've been thinking of straightening my hair but when I was told it will take atleast 3 hours....I decided against it...since I don't have the time.

Hi youless, it didn’t occur to me that your friend had spent 8 hours in the hair salon. It is a really torturous matte for me. She might visit the salon during its rush hours, as well as her hair service needs longer time to cope with.

I hate spending my precious time waiting in the hair salon. It is really annoying to consume few hours to wait for my turn. Actually the hair stylist takes only 40 minutes or so to shampoo and to cut my hair. I have a simple and long straight hair style. I dislike to have perm hair

Nowadays I have found out there are less customers during working hours on weekdays. I will visit the salon which I am used to go before lunch time. I know most of the housewives are busy preparing their meal at home at that time. Luckily that Monday is also my off day, so I don’t have to waste more time in the salon.

Probably takes about thirty minutes max to have my haircut! Usually the clippers go straight over it as I keep it extremely short either a '2 or a '3 all over and at the sides I go for a '1 my hair grows far too quickly and I have no patience having to gel it or put it into place so it's nice an easy and don't take much managing. I go to a local gents barbers who do it well and even do my eyebrows and ear hair for me as part of the cut.

More than half an hour is a little longer for me, I prefer to have very very short hair on my head. As it looks like good with short hair for me.
It's common to see a lady to spend several hours in the hair salon, it makes they look pretty after taking of their hair, I think.

8 hours for a hair cut!!!! One can already go to work and come back home within that time frame...goodness gracious 8 hours!LOL! I think the longest time I have ever spend time for hair cut is about 1/2 an hour to 45 minutes for a hair cut. Have never washed hair in the saloon before as well. Don't like it as they will charge extra for washing. Just want to quickly get my hair cut and shaped and go home and wash it myself. But I guess this time round I will not be visiting the hair saloon for a long time as I plan to let my hair grow long. But I will still need to get it shaped nicely but that will be later in the year like around July...........have a nice day youless!

Me, I want in-and-out of the salon in less than an hour (including wait-time). That's why I shampoo and condition my hair and make sure it's still wet when I come in for a trim or styling.:)

Good morning, youless. It is hard to imagine for some people to stay so long at the barber shop for the haircut. I will never do that. One hour is quite ok on my side because sometimes I will have to wait for my turn for my haircut. But I have a favorite lady barber not far away from my school. She can always make me happy with the haircut. In fact, I also introduce some of my colleagues to her shop for a haircut. They love it as well. Good day, youless.

I do not usually go to the salon. I just had my haircut last month and the last time before that was last 2007. I wanted to grow my hair so it took me so long to have it cut. Since it is now summer and it is terribly hot, I decided to cut it half its entire length. I can still use a ponytail to fix it because it is still below shoulder length. I am not used to expensive hair treatment, maybe because I do not have enough money and I have no work yet.
