nice mailman??? |
|
i have always had the nicest mailman, does a good job, friendly, etc. i always give my neighbor the local paper that comes twice a week. this morning i walked down to put a letter in the box for the mailman to pick up. he's always real good to do that to even if u don't have any mail. i took the newspaper & put it in my neighbor's mailbox. she was already gone to work. since i have trouble walking sometime i thought it would be easier on me to do that. i have done it before but guess not before the mail had run. he took the paper out of the box & threw it on the ground. i thought that was real tacky of him. what do y'all think? is there some rule he can't put mail in the box if there is already something in it? maybe he got up on the wrong side of the bed this mourning. whatcha' think?

1. suspenseful (17145) | 9 months ago | It depends on how much mail there is. The mail box is for mail not for the newspaper. I would have just put it on her steps or wait until she came home and then brought the newspaper over to her. But here the mailman will just slip the letters in because there is usually a newspaper or two in the mailbox. And if your neighbor already had a part underneath for newspapers, you could have put it there. I guess things are a bit different in the States. They must have rules that mailboxes are for mail only.

ANTIQUELADY (11509) | 9 months ago | first of all let me say that we have some smart people in the states. we do know what a mailbox is for, we know that if there is a place to put newspapers under the box that u put them there. the reason i put the paper in the mailbox was because i was trying to save myself some steps, i don't walk real well due to some medical conditions. things are alot different here i'm sure. sure am glad i'm here, god bless the u.s.a.

3. OreoCookie3 (18780) | 9 months ago | I think only mail is allowed in the mail box Antiquelady. Even if it is your own mail box, I think it belongs to the post office once it is in the ground.. at least that is what I have always heard. I know that we can't have any papers put in our mail box.. they have to either have their own box, or be on the ground.

6. GardenGerty (20434) | 9 months ago | I do not know all of the circumstances, but there are some laws about what can be put in mailboxes. If your newspaper did not come in the mail, it cannot be put in the box. Our church delivered circulars for a store, a billion years ago, and we were cautioned that we must not put them in mailboxes or the store would get in trouble. Same with our Avon catalogs when I sold. Technically that is Federal Government Property and although you may have purchased the box, nothing is supposed to go in it that has not been paid to be mailed.

7. aisaellis22 (3530) | 9 months ago | Hello antiquelady! Personally, we don't have a mailbox at home.
I watched the movie "Air Bud" and that I noticed that the newspaper man just throw all the newspaper on the ground so I guess that's what the mailman did especially maybe there are no enough space for the mails.

|
ANTIQUELADY (11509) | 9 months ago | yes, they do throw the papers out like that. i read my local paper then i give it to my neighbor to read. it was just easier for me to put it in her box. my bad,i guess.

9. sunshinelady (6113) | 9 months ago | Well, since you said that he is friendly I would say that he got up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe he was having a off day. I think it was tacky what he did with the paper. I don't think there is anything that says that he can't put the mail in the box if there is already something in there. Just chuck it up to him being in a bad mood.
