What I feel is, it is easier to read a book when its hard copy is available rather than reading an ebook. Reading from hard copy has primarily two advantages:
It puts less stress on eyes
and we can underline the main points while reading from a hard copy.

To quote Gil Grissom (William Petersen, CSI:), "When you read from a computer screen you lean in. When I read, I like to lean back."
I don't think, unless the industry forces me to by totally getting rid of paper books, I'll ever go in for the e-book phenomenon. I bought one once that was 17 pages long and I couldn't wait to get to the end so I didn't have to deal with it anymore. I hated it and it was only 17 pages! I can't even imagine 300.

I agree - the hard copy is better. Ebooks are good for people who are constantly on the go and read their literature on the plane or train, etc.
For anyone who wishes to settle down at home and curl up with a book - the good ole classic hard copy is best.

The touch and feel of a real book anyday! Ebooks are quite a nuisance to read, strenuous to scroll dozens of pages. Yes, like you, I too like to dogmark and highlight stuff along the way to return back to later - something we cannot do with pdfs, although the latter are a lot cheaper to buy (or maybe available even free).
