Drop to Drop

Drop To Drop - Humans face two primary problems in getting fed and getting drinking water. Energy is required to get clean drinking water where it is either nonexistent or scarce. We must focus on cheapening new sources of solar energy and ocean wave energy in desert climes where resources for farming would be, with the exception of water, plentiful. There is sun, soil can be manufactured or hydroponic crops. Once energy is cheap, desalination can be used to get the water needed to grow vegetables to make the desert bloom. Cheap energy leads to plentiful water leads to plentiful food.

Earth's weather patterns are changing. Changing weather patterns, global cooling, warming, and content drift have been with Earth sense before mammal kind have been dominant on Earth. * In order to survive, mankind must put forth resources to adjust and adapt to the changes the planet is undergoing. * I don't think that carbon trading and reduction of carbon admissions, while admirable goals, will be enough to halt or even put forth a major dent in these changes. Setting aside money for new energy development will lead to a plentiful Earth. * Humans face two primary problems in getting fed and getting drinking water. Yes, they are exploring wave energy and desalination. If they can get a solar desalination plant, or a desalination plant powered by wave energy, that would really be low cost water.

Well, considering the contents of some fast food meals, I can see kelp content going in just as easily and being just as healthy. * Kelp can grow also in bins too in shore. You can also grow fish and plants hydrologically together, (fish below, plants above) using the byproduct of one to fertilize the other. Talapia is a very common species for in shore farming.

well, as an SF fan, I can see growning kelp crops that can then be processed into food - at least into animal feed

I would have thought that in the present economic climate as it is now, with so many businesses shutting down, it would be a really good time for governments to invest in encouraging development of alternative power sources. Although a lot of governments are talking 'green' they are putting most of their money into propping up car producers and non-green industries. If that money was put into producing inexpensive solar panels for instance, it would be so much more beneficial for everyone than putting more cars on the roads.

Green tech is getting it's share of dollars. It is just quieter about it. Green tech is where the computer was twenty five to thirty years ago. We didn't hear much about Microsoft or Apple back then. IBM wasn't a big yapper either. They are sure on the stage now... * Israel is really going in big with green tech. * Japan is also going solar in a big way. That little island country is close to being post car too. There are a lot of scooters and electric bikes that rule the road. Hummers have a horrific time on the narrow streets.

Weather changes has another major attribute to its changes and that is the planets in the how they line up. That is an every changing circumstance that is not taken into consideration when they discuss things like this in the news. The magnetic pull of the moon, the sun, and the planets all has an affect. Then you have to take into consideration the comets, and asteroids especially those that have been getting close to earth, this all has an effect on this planet. Now consider all the satelites around the earth like a fish net with no strings, I wonder if that has been an affect as well. That is another reason EARTH is changing in her ways... I feel

We need to understand Earth. That way, we can better predict what comes our way.

We can't stop driving, true, but we can change slowly what we do drive. We can have a moped for those small single person trips. That will cushion us against gas price spikes as well.
