Are you saving for a reason?

I am always dreaming of saving enough money to buy a beautiful house.But now I am still a student and my parents offer my school fees.I'm just looking forward to the day I pay for may parents bills..

I'm saving to pay for my daughter's wedding that is this August. Everything is on a low interest credit card and then we have to pay it off. We can't afford to pay for it now as we still have to travel to the wedding and buy clothes, stay at a hotel and eat meals out while we're there.

When that's paid off, we're going on a vacation to take our younger daughter to see snow for the first time. Hopefully with all of the budgeting we're doing, extra work and not spending money on luxuries we'll be able to pay off our debt by the end of the year. So we have that vacation to as well as a beautiful and happy ocassion of our dd getting married!

I'm saving up for camp this summer and also a bit for college expenses. I keep slipping up by thinking "If I just spend a little bit of it on this article of clothing, I'll still have enough funds for when I need the money!".

i was originally saving money for an out-of-country travel. but then, it seems there'd always be something more important that i have to spend money on. so i would spent a part of my savings and not reach my target amount for my travel. so i realized it would take a long long time before i reach my target savings and i decided to change my priorities. i'm still saving money for my travel but it isn't my top reason now for saving money.

of course i agree when you said that we have to save money for future needs like medical needs or moving away. that's always a part of savings. but aside from that, my top reason now for saving money is for a travel too but not out-of the-country. its actually a vacation trip with my friends probably in October. the vacation is only within the country in a famous tourist spot.^^

Since being a young child, I have always saved a portion of my money just for the sake of it. I never have anything in mind, but one day I will see something and buy it, if I have saved enough. No matter how little I earn, I always put something away to save and don't think about it - it is surprising how it mounts up. - - Derek

I ammsaving money so I can pay for my personal property tax and my rel estate tax which is due the end of every year. Then I save more incase I have a needed home or automobile repair. I also save for eye glasses and dental appointments. Then I try to have enough put aside incase I get out of work so I can pay for my home fees and utilities, insurance and gas in the car.

I'm on a budget like most people now days so if I want something I either have to wait until the bills go down a bit or try to put some money up each payday....it's hard though. This month I am hoping all my online earnings will add up for my little trip to a park next month...or at least ease the burden on my regular pay. Almost half is already saved up in my paypal and I am tempted to transfer it to my account because it's three days before payday and I am broke of course....but the way I look at it I might as well leave it there because it will take 3-4 business days to get into my account....

So I try to save the best I can. My goal this fall is to be able to actually save some of my paycheck...for things like you mentioned...cause now I have to plan my dentist visits around bills...ugh not a good thing.

Who can save anything? We are just doing good to get by. I wish we could, but it is just not feasible.

Me and my fiance are planning to get married and that's what we're saving up for this year:D And of course it doesn't hurt to save a few pennies in case there are emergencies. Sometimes it's hard to find money when you need it most. better be prepared:)

First, about those "old TVs." While we do pay the expense of Comcast for the www, here in Colorado we have an TV by antenna tradition. We did the two government antenna box coupons and bought 2 boxes. Afterward I inherited a digital widescreen TV less than a year old. The older the analogue TV, the stronger the receiver. Our old TVs hooked up to converter boxes bring in a better quality digital picture than the new wide-screen digital that can also interpret analogue. Also, the converter box has captions so these old TVs can now have a caption AND a controller when I am in couch potato mode... HANG ON TO YOUR OLD TVs!

In 1970 I did a season of search and rescue as a Seaman in the U.S. Coast Guard before I went into helicopters. Ever since I have dreamed of owning a sailing an ocean worthy sail boat. I have no idea how much they cost these days...

For a few years I did sail a wind surfer on a neighborhood lake and learned the hands on mechanics of sailing as well as my spine being the second mast. Talk about hard work!
