Have you ever tried using a speech recognition program ?  |

|  I am typing this discussion without touching the keyboard,by speaking into a microphone . I'm not going to make any corrections so you can see just exactly how well this program is doing . If you would like more information on that I can give you a way to worry it can be downloaded . now I see one problem there already but it's doing fairly well. it is called E.-speaking and it is a shareware program that you can download for free . But we know what to think .
OK, now I am using the keyboard. I can see some mistakes above but they are things that could be corrected easily.

| |  I actually downloaded that and haven't spent the time programming yet but the little bit I have used I really like.
I need to get it work to how i speak, and what i do
meaning like if i want to make quotations for speaking as in a book or something like that.
I want to say Open quote, and it does it, when speaking complete close quote.
But i do like the program I need to spend some time in the training programming mode though

| |  My husband has used one before but I never have. I will have to send this e-mail to him so he can come in and tell everyone about the program he used. I can't remember it right now... "dragon" something-or-other I believe. Whatever it was, he was quite pleased with it.

| | I prefer Dragon - Naturally Speaking. It doesn't require that much training, it interfaces with almost everything, and also makes very few errors in spelling. It is expensive, but I think that it's worth it. I may try downloading E-speaking just so that I can compare the two for accuracy. If it works OK, then it's well worth the price :) | | | | | | |

| | I have to agree, Dragon - Naturally Speaking is the best of its kind that is availableoff the shelf. The drawback is that it is expensive. E-speaking is a poor second but it is free to download and use which is a big attraction to those that can't or don't want to spend money on what is, in the end an experimental technology.
The one major drawback I have found with E-speaking is that you must spend a lot of time training the software because it does not learn as you use it. It does work, just not as well as Dragon - Naturally Speaking. | | | |

| |  I have not used speech recognition for quite a few years. I tried the system around 10 years ago and succeeded in sending an email to my brother without using the keyboard, but I never had any real intention of continuing to use it.
Considering how effective speech recognition was so long ago, it should be a very high standard by now.

I also tried Natural Speeking its great but you have to pay it:(
If you write long texts it is very useful but you have to correct the text after it because sometimes mistakes happen.
