I don't care which side of the political fence you are on, this is interesting. At least that is my opinion. Barack Obama beat both former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter to win best spoken word album for his audio version of his book "The Audacity Of Hope: Thoughts On Reclaiming The American Dream." Clinton and Carter both have won the category before (Clinton, twice). And Hillary Rodham Clinton took home a Grammy in 1996 for her audio version of the book, "It Takes A Village."

The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream is the second book written by then Senator Barack Obama.[1] In the fall of 2006 it became number one on both the New York Times and Amazon.com bestsellers lists after Obama was endorsed by Oprah Winfrey.[2] In the book, Obama expounds on many of the subjects that became part of his 2008 campaign for the Presidency. The book advance from the publisher totalled $1.9 million contracted for three books.[3]^quote

I was not among the fans of Obama when he was trying to secure the democratic nomination, but he certainly proved me wrong. I was worried needlessly. I have seen nothing to worry about with the President's work in office thus far. While his book isn't of an immediate concern to me, personally, the sales of this work seem to strongly indicate how well Obama has his finger to the pulse of America right now. One way or another, Obama is what the country needs.. even if conservative, Republican, or just plain racists citizens of America seem to have no desire to give him a chance.

Hello ersmommy. I did not know about it, but I am interested to know about it and I thank you for sharing this information with us. I love to listen to speeches, especially good and interesting ones instead of those boring ones. I watched some of the videos about speeches made by famous people on the Internet and I have to say that I am interested in them. Take care.
