Are there any nice play parks in your local area? |
| |
| The play park nearest to my home is for older kids and it is in poor repair. The one a little further away is suitable for my two year old son. It has baby swings, a roundabout and a slide. Yesterday I took him to a play park half an hours drive away. It was a special event day with a bouncy castle, face painting and all sorts of play equipment for disabled children. My fourteen year old son felt too old to go so I took my six year of niece. She had a very exciting and enjoyable time just like my son. Are there any nice play parks in your local area? What is your nearest one like? Do your kids like a particular type of play equipment? | | | | | |

| | My daughter is 1 in 2 weeks and I take her to the park right round the corner from me. She loves the baby swings, I dont feel cofortable yet letting her go on anything else. I will when she is a little bit older maybe in a few months. I have many parks round by me that are all suitable for younger children and older children alike. I will not go there after 5pm though as there are teenagers around that drink in the parks. | | | | | | |

| | I live in a small town and we have at least two parks. One is smaller and the other is larger...The larger park is nice it has walking trails basketball court and a tennis court plus a nice play area.So the younger kids have a place to play and families have a larg place to grill outside and have birthday parties. So I am happy for the most part with the two parks we have... | | | | | | |

| | I have a park just across the street. Great view of trees and plants. It used to be in bad repair but the council did a great job of putting in a new payground for the local kids. There was also going to be a new library built on it but too many residents complained that it would spoil their view. Shame as I really think kids need something like that. My neices love it when they come to stay. | | | | | | |

| | My backyard is like a playground, so we rarely go to the park. I have a swingset with 4 swings, A play clubhouse that has a sand box under the clubhouse part and a slide, rope ladder and firemans pole to slide down. Then I have a teeter tauter, some smaller slides and ride on toys. Not to mention a swimming pool and hot tub. If I were to take my daughter to the park, the one closest to our house is nice. They just redid the whole park 2 yrs ago, so it is very nice. | | | | | | |

| | Yes there is a nice park. It was good shape also a few years ago and many people used to go there to play, but then some vandals decided to burn a plastic slide-house (i don't know exactly how you call it but it's a slide and a small house with a door... Luckily last summer, after a few months of waiting, the local administration has refurbished it. We were lucky since many persons put pressure to refurbish it because it also has some nice trees and is shady. So this park is not very big, but is suitable for many ages. They put a nice area covered area and three tables with benches attached at two sides and they are children's height (but parents can sit down as well). There are two types of swings: the support ones for small babies/toddlers and the ones for older children. There is a see saw, two types of slides. One which is a bit circular and another one which is wider and kids have to cross a "bridge" to slide. When they were refurbishing the area they also decided to put a small soccer turf pitch. It is used for five a side football, but older kids who don't play in the slides or swings can have a run there or play some ball together. It's nice and 15 minutes walk away from my house. | | | | | | |

| | We have two parks in really close proximity. The closest one needs torn down and rebuilt. It is all rusted and has very few things for the kids to actually do. It doesn't even have a slide, which happens to be my daughter's favorite. We only go there for a quick walk and a couple minutes of play. We've never even met any other kids there. The other one is only a couple minutes drive though. It is excellent. It has pretty much anything you could want. Two full sized playgym areas, soccer, basketball, bike paths, baseball, swings, beach volleyball, and trails. We go to that one at least once a week. My daughter always makes friends there, but it can get over crowded due to parties and sports games. As long as she enjoys it I'm happy. It's always good to get out of the house and watch them have fun. Most of our neighborhood is elderly, so it's a good way to make friends. | | | | | | |
