| I planted between 8 and 12 sunflowers outside. I started them from seed indoor and think I transplanted them outside too early as only this one in the photo attatched grew. The others all died off. Do you get too anxious to transplant things outside for your garden? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~ | | Sunflower | | | | |

| | This lady I worked for one time at an old country store threw out a bunch of wild sunflower seeds and some of them grew and were so pretty and big. Not sure how many she threw out. She didn't transplant them or anything. | | | | | | |

| | I drive past a sunflower planting on a daily basis. It is August, and they have started now to hang their heads. They look so awesome towering above the six food privacy fence. | | | |

| | Hi GRANDPA BOB, That is a shame that only one survived, but never mind, you learn as you go along, so maybe next year you can palnt it later. Tamara | | | | | | |

| | Yes. We got a bit anxious this year when putting the tomato plants in the ground. We got a frost that we were not expecting and it killed them. I am glad though because the plants that we have now are looking very good and they have alot of green tomatoes on them already. | | | | | | |

| | I should have waited, I think. My green beans look like lace on Grandma's doilies. However, the bugs have left and now they are growing nice healthy leaves. Next year I think I will wait till the end of May to put things out. | | | | | | |

| | I do not grow them well indoors at all. I tend to want to plant them too soon directly into the soil. My sunflowers are always volunteer from the birds and squirrels planting them with sloppy table manners. I had some corn come up volunteer this year as well. | | | | | | |

| | If you don't mind exactly where they come up, try letting some of the seeds scatter on the ground. I used to have a wildflower bed that I only planted once cause they self-sowed every fall. | | | | | | |
