Should children be allowed carrying cellphones in schools??? |
|
In my region the schools are against it and parents are very careful about their kids. They don't allow them with cell phones.. There are many ill effects of the cell phones. But if the parents are working, then the cell phones become very important as it is the only medium to keep i touch with the kids, when every body is out or not in home. What is your opinion in this regard??? Should children be allowed with cellphones that are not too expensive...Be free to post.

ANd i think it will be too dangerous also to have something valuable to your child

I guess they don't commute so someone will be fetching them regularly so cellphone is not a necessity. For children 12 years and above, they can use cellphone but only during recess and breaks. This is only my opinion guys

| 34. mkrieg (2) | 7 months ago | In my area they too are not allowed in school and if they are caught with any "portable electronics" they are taken away. They use the cell phones to text each other answers to tests. what happened to the good ole days when there weren't cell phones?? In this day and age I agree that at some point they will need them to keep in touch with parents. But, I don't think a 10 year old should carry one. Too young!!!!! They can't even keep track of their backpacks yet alone a cell phone!!!!! The phones they are coming out with these days are just as bad computers. You are able to get on the internet from your cell phone. SCARY!!!! Hard enough keeping track of them at home on the PC! I think when you are old enough to get a job, and can pay for your own phone, then go for it! you pay the bill, you buy your phone! Until then, I would not buy my kids one! As for the ill effects, well, a lot are not known. But I do know my sister had 2 cell phones and put a raw egg between them and dialed both of them, and the egg exploded!!!!!!! Imagine your brain?

But, I think you should be allow to keep them in your cars. I remember when my kids were in high school and that was when every one had pagers and my kids could not even keep pagers in their cars.

36. nrn2003 (435) | 7 months ago | Children should not be able to carry cell phones in school. There is no need for them. The school has a telephone in the office for children who need to contact their parents. Cell phones cause problems in school with cheating, bullying, and sexual harrassment. Cell phones were never used in schools when I was there less than 10 years ago, and we got through it just fine. If there is a way that you need to talk to a parent call from school, or call after school from a cell phone left in the car.

38. libby2009 (1569) | 7 months ago | In the United States, the majority of schools have had to re-evaluate their rules and regulations because children have cell phones. They are allowed to have them but they are to be kept off at all times while on the school grounds. Schools have the means in their administrative offices should a child need to make a phone call. Many schools have phones inside the classroom in case of an emergency. Even if a natural disaster occurs the cell phone towers lose communications and lock making it impossible for anyone to use their cell phones. It isn't until about 15 to 20 minutes later that the lines are re-established.
I uphold this law here in the United States. My daughter had a cell phone while she was in high school. She was to keep it off on the school grounds but once she was away from the school then she could call me if necessary.
Regards,
Libby

| 40. rebeccasx (2) | 7 months ago | To each his own I suppose. i didn't get my first cell phone until I was 21, and I had a job to pay for it. Kids are to spoiled today. True, we are in the age of technology now, but why become so dependent. Kids aren't using phones for the proper purpose, it's just another status symbol to rise above those who can't afford and a new way to bully people ( via text) and back stab. Kids of today don't know how to communicate like we did back in the old days. Face to face, lol. London drugs sells mini cells that only have emergency numbers programmed into them so kids can't abuse the privilege. Those are phones I'd approve for kids, not Blackberry's or iPhones, anything like that ..
