 In my region the schools are against it and parents are very careful about their kids.They don't allow them with cell phones.. There are many ill effects of the cell phones. But if the parents are working,then the cell phones become very important as it is the only medium to keep i touch with the kids,when every body is out or not in home.
What is your opinion in this regard??? Should children be allowed with cellphones that are not too expensive...Be free to post.

 bamakelly (3961) | 7 months ago |  I agree. It does depend on the parents. That could be part of the problem these days. Cell phones are given to children by parents and then it gets out of control. The phones are being carried onto the premises of schools and other establishments where they are not really needed.
I think that some parents could have the right idea in mind in some occasions but children are too young to have a sophisticated piece of equipment.
These cell phones can do so many tricks these days and it can really deter or break concentration of young people that need to be thinking of important things like studies and the like.
Technology can be a good thing as long as it does not get out of control.

Cell phones can have a way of hindering studies and can be misused and break the concentration for children.
Children don't need anything breaking their concentration. I don't think parents should give them to kids unless it is a really good reason. | |

And we lived without them! We didn't know any differently.
I have thought of this subject one or two times in the past and I have to say that I don't really like the idea of cell phones on children in schools.
They don't need to call anyone. Back in my day if there was a need to make a call or some kind of emergency we would ask to use the telephone and that was that.
All of these new things of technology these days have their place but not in the schools. That should just be for adults that are mature and can handle such things in my own opinion. | |

So after school if they have extra activities they can call their parents when they are done or if they are going to a friends they can let the parent know were they will be. | |

| 55. CHORES (164) | 7 months ago | believe it or not.I haven't use a cell phone until I go to university.My friends just can't imagine how my life will be without a cell phone.But I just tell them public telephones are enough in the campsite.
I don't think it a good thing for young chilgren take cell phones.Despite conecting with their parents they have a lot of other time to text or play games.

I don't think it is necessary for some of the really young ones to have them at all. I really don't have a problem with them having them at school, since there are times when they are needed to be contacted, but they do not need to have them out. I taught for 30 years and the students weren't allowed to have them, but as long as they aren't seen, how would you know?
