If the dutch bowlers came back very well in the second half of the england batting innings then the dutch batsmen played even better to seal their first victory in the tournament. They got off to a good start with reekers hitting a few out of the ground and then bolstered by a spectacular 49 by grooth and were taken home by ten doeschate at the end who is a regular in the english county circuit. Let us hope they keep up their performance in matches to come.

thanks a lot sue you seem o be a very nice person. but you are mistaken in one thing i am not talking about football actually this is the place for a cricket discussion and netherlands beat england in a cricket match. i do not keep tabs on football matches between england and holland.which counntry are you from? thanks for the response again and happy mylotting.

I knew that! I was pretending to be "Girly" (backfired - too subtle I guess) I used to work near the London Oval so got to see quite a bit of cricket - I had a boyfriend who was cricket mad but, truth be told, I really didn't get much of what was going on.
In Britain, everywhere you go there's a village cricket green so I really should do the country wives thing and learn to make cucumber sandwiches or something ...
What I do know is, I've never associated Holland with top cricket. It's always India - or seems to be. I'm more of a Rugby fan myself. Men with funny shaped balls, you know ...

No i do not know really. I am not a rugby fan but india has a rugby team too. I failed to get your joke as well. You are from england then you would of course know how things can go bad for your cricket and your football is not doing well so you picked the right sport to support i guess. Even if it is played with a funny shaped ball. It is oval in shape actually.

This result is even more shocking that the one one where Bangladesh defeated Aurtalia. Netherlands??? I mean Netherlands - how can Netherlands beat England it is just too shocking to be true. I mean England - place where Cricket was born is actually struggling to stay put in international world. This is really too amazing to be true BUT TRUE. Expect many more to come.

This is really one of the biggest reversals in the World Cup Twenty Twenty. The way the dutch played today I think they deserved to win. This win of their will definitely make all the big teams cautious against the smaller teams. And now these teams cannot afford to take any team lightly. For England its a wake up call. This win of theirs reminded me of the famous wins like Kenya over Windies in WC 1996 and that of Ireland against Pakistan in 2007 WC.
