I saw a sleep aid that said it was a non'drowsy formula

So, the other day I was in the drug store exploring, and I saw a sleep aid/sleeping pill that said it had a non-drowsy formula. Isn't that the point of a sleep aid??
It sounds so silly to me. If you are trying to get to sleep, don't you WANT to feel drowsy? I mean, it's not like I'd pop a sleeping pill and then go out on a Sunday drive for hours... What's your opinion on this? DO you think it's silly like me?

Crazy medication description lol. This makes me remember the warning label of a certain brand of iron that said "warning: do not iron clothes while on body" haha

LOL - I know. That sad part of that is people actually need those warning labels. Like not to use a blowdryer when you're taking a bath or something. Makes me wonder where common sense went.

Well it does sound self-defeating but I think the company is not marketing it properly…what they really want to say is that there will be no hangover. Most sleeping pills makes people carry on that effect of drowsiness throughout the day which is not desirable. I think this pill has a certain longevity period like say 8hrs (which is the ideal sleep requirement) and after that the effect wears off i.e. one doesn’t feel drowsy.

Oh I see, yes this does make more sense, but I think the company certainly should have made this more clear than just saying"non-drowsy formula."

i think it sounds a bit silly to me too... isn't sleeping aid supposed to make us drowsy and help us to fall asleep??? if it doesn't have a non-drowsy formula, how is it going to help us to sleep??? i just don't understand... unless if they replaced the drowsy formula with something else that can make us fall asleep as well... i don't know... sounds weird to me... take care and have a nice day...

What was the name brand, do you remember, I would like to see if I can find it here in Canada. A picture for my blog would be great.
Do not take this personally but I usually take things on the internet with a grain of salt until I confirm them with an authoritative source.

I'll try to find out what it was. I don't recall, it was actually a few weeks ago when I was in the store.

LOL, I often wonder about marketing strategy on most of the products out there. Yes it sounds silly and really I wonder if people really pick up on that stuff. Great, I can take this at noon to sleep tonight but it won't make me tired because it's non drowsy. Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it.

Yes and a lot of the otc meds like Nyquil actually have things to keep you awake. It is stupidity and deliberate. They just sell stuff and if people are dumb enough to buy and believe it will help then the companies profit. It is not about us feeling better but about the companies profit margrine. It is not about us getting well but just making them money so they tell you a lie and people buy into it.

This has to be the silliest thing I've heard about a medicine since they first came out with Flonase. When it first came out, they had a small blurb at the bottom of the screen saying "It is not known how this medicine actually works". But a sleep aid that is non-drowsy? That's like a cough medicine that doesn't help with coughs. Wait, that's the new formula for Nyquil. Oh well lol.

That's about the worst sell for a product I've ever seen. I like the warning labels more, like on a hair dryer it says, "Do Not Use While Sleeping". Hmm, okay. I guess it you don't want to fall asleep you should use that product and a hair dryer. Who lets this stuff into our capitalist market?

I think that is so funny! Thanks I needed that!!! LOL
I am taking BLOOD Pressure med. And, it says, "You should avoid Prolonged or Excessive exposure to direct and/or artificial sunlight while taking this medication." So, why does meds. that deal with my blood keep me from sunlight? I guess I just watched to many Vampire Movie's. LOL
Well, my doctor gave me high blood pressure that may cause head aches.
So, he told me to take Advil for the head aches but they can cause high blood pressure. So, what is the point I am still going to get a headache and high blood pressure. LOL

i find it funny and the same time silly. How come its a sleeping aid and yet it said non drowsy. the reason why you want to drink sleeping pills for you have a good sleep and to help you have your sleep.
Why did they make that sleeping aid, im really wondering why it said sleeping aid.

It's silly, alright. I remember receiving an e-mail with the title "Humanity Is Doomed to Extinction because of Stupidity." It was a joke that listed products with stupid labels or product information. Maybe we could add this sleeping pill to the list.

I do think it's silly. I haven't seen that at all, so it is interesting. I guess maybe it is designed to help you stay alseep once you get to sleep?
I too would think that if you were using a sleeping aid that you would want to be drowsy prior to trying to go to sleep.

Hey Bethany, You should know that is for the people that work with the Government in the Intelligence Department! LOL
You should know if you look around you will find many things that do not make since but people do not change it because it has been that way too long. If you ever want to see a funny example watch some of the comedian Gallagher. You will like him. Enjoy!
