American Government on slippery slope

When in American history has a president been able to create his own group of government officials answerable to no one but him? That is exactly what is being done now. Obama, through his power of executive order, has created 20+ "czars" to handle the major issues of concern in American society. These czars are not answerable to the Congress or courts. Moreover, some of them are not even uniquely qualified to handle the areas of their czardoms. I say this is nothing but a power grab and has put the USA on the downside of a slippery slope to fascism. A few Congresspeople have voiced concerns about this situation, but mostly there has been silence. Why is this being allowed to happen?

the President has the right to have advisors and can seek advice from them. To give them regulatory authority is unconstitutional. The last time I read the constitution it was the job of congress to make the laws and the executive branch to carry them out or enforce them. The Courts were to decide the questions that came up. We need elected officials who know and understand the constitution and the separation of powers as well as what is delegated to the federal government and what are the states powers.

I do hope the President is merely getting advice from the czars he is appointing but it seems unlikely because he is appointing people with little expertise in the areas they are assigned to. If ever there was a time to contact one's Congressperson and point these things out, this is it! It seems all kinds of states' rights are being tied up in the stimulus packages and the feds. are insisting all the states take the money whether they want it or not. It's time for the people to remind the government that we elected them and they are supposed to work for us.
