The Cinderella doll that I knit

This is a doll that I made from a Jean Greenhowe book. It is one doll that transforms into another doll simply by lifting up the skirt part of her dress and turning her over. Jean Greenhowe calls it a topsy turvy doll. I don't know if she invented this style of doll but her designs are very well done. I hope you enjoy it. I uploaded just one picture because I don't know how to upload a second file. If anyone knows how, please let me know.

That is a great looking doll. I can knit but only basic items such as afghans. I make various items with plastic canvas and yarn. Some of the items were bought patterns and others I have simply designed myself. Am afraid to sell the Sesame Street patterns without their consent. Not worth getting into trouble.

Your doll is really good. Looks like it would be difficult to make. Especially by a novice person like myself.
I am so basic that I forgot how to purl. Now that's crazy..lol I can't find a way to contact Henson and the Muppets. Tried to send an email but it wouldn't go through. Don't want to be fined for using their characters. Would like to sell what I've made on the internet but don't feel comfy doing so.

The only stitches used for these dolls is basic knit and purl. You just need to know how to increase and decrease the amount of stitches. They are knit on regular needles, no circular or double pointed needles needed. They really aren't as difficult as they look. I know what you mean about the Sesame Street items. I have made a few toys of my own that are lookalikes of cartoon and movie characters but I don't think I would be allowed to sell them because of copyrights.

I love these dolls. You can add another photo when you reply to a comment that someone has made to your discussion. How long does it take to make one of these dolls?

Thanks for the compliment. It's been a while since I made the doll but I think it probably took 2 days for the doll itself and then another day for each skirt. There are quite a few stitches on each skirt (about 200 if I remember correctly) and I can't just sit and knit all day even though I would love to. If I was to do nothing else but knit it would take a lot less time than what I just told you but of course there's the laundry, the dusting, the vacuuming...you know.
How can I add the picture - I don't see a "add image" button here.

I'm trying but I can't seem to make the image file go through. I read all the instructions in the FAQ and I've done it a few times before already, but this one just won't go through. If you go in to the craft section you will notice that I have tried 3 times now to upload the picture. Maybe I'll try again another day because it's just not working tonight.

Great Job! It looks BEAUTIFUL!
I remember having a doll like that but I think it was HollieHobbie. And I saw one not too long ago where one of DD1's classmates had a Disney Princess one.

I think I remember these dolls! The one you knitted is so pretty! I remember some type of doll. It was knitted I believe, but it was on a pillow or something like that. It was very beautiful. I wish I still had it. I could take a picture of it and show you! I'm not sure how to do another file. Maybe I can find out for you and get back to you though, unless someone tells you before I can.
